Canelo Alvarez will announce his next opponent Tuesday 6pm UK Time

In a teasing game, Canelo Alvarez stated today that his next opponent for May 4th will be An American for the Cinco de Mayo holiday, without revealing the name of who he’s fighting on that date. Canelo says he’s not fighting a Mexican fighter, which appear to rule out David Benavidez and Jaime Munguia as potential opponents for that date. “There is no shooting between Mexicans! Canelo’ Álvarez assures that he will not face Jaime Munguía in May,” said Box Azteca on X. This bit of information given out by the Mexican star, Canelo (60-2-2, 39 KOs) would appear to confirm the reports that surfaced last night, saying that Jermall Charlo is the opponent that he’ll defend his four super middleweight titles against on May 4th.

It shouldn´t even be sanctioned as he doesn´t deserve any type of ranking at 168 and should not be holding the WBC 160lb belt.

Jermall Charlo
David Benavidez *born and raised in USA, technically Murican
Edgar Berlanga

It´s 99% certain that Charlo got the call.
