Nah. He'd deserve to be higher than top 50-40 where he's about now. But most of the great welterweights of the past have moved up to middleweight or beyond: Robinson, Leonard, Hearns, Griffith, Armstrong, Napoles, Rodriguez, Walker. He wouldn't be doing anything special. And moving up a full original weight class above your best weight is something Pacquiao and Marquez have already done in his era which Floyd has not. Pac and Marquez are lightweights fighting at welter after all, like many a great lightweight before them. Sugar Ray Leonard is around the top 20 and he's done more than Mayweather. For Mayweather to even match Leonard's accomplishments and crack the top 20 he'd have had to fight Pacquiao and Paul Williams at Welterweight in 2009-10, beat Sergio Martinez at Middleweight in 2010-11, then took the title off of Andre Ward at Super Middleweight in 2012-13.
he cant be touched if he keeps avoiding them. and saying floyd gets outweiged by 25+ is overrated. what\s stopping him from gaining weight if he want to challenged himself. he has the built, long arms, height. pac eats 5 times a day to campaign at his 7th. 5th division is a walk in the park for pac. pac is 2 weight classes better than floyd. thats how great pac is.
they sparked alot of interest and brought alot of new, younger fans with them.. what makes that bad for the sport?
