I thought Canelo beat Trout...let's be clear...Canelo may have only thrown punches for 1 minute of each round but his punches affected Trout...Trout on the other hand was busier but his punches didn't hurt Canelo Same thing with Broner...he BEAT Paulie! Paulie was slapping punches, throwing soft love taps to the body but BRONER's punches were game changing... But it's a double standard...Canelo is loved so he gets away with it...Broner is hated (that's his way of selling tix!) so he gets penalized.
Small difference. Trout was a higher rated champion at the weight, with better punching power and got dropped in the fight.
That's what i've been saying since the fight happened. Canelo was more impressive over a better younger fighter in trout though.
To be honest Trout showed absolutely no power that night and his best and only notable win was against a small and faded Cotto...and now hes no where to be found with no fight on the horizon...Trout will not be relevant again...he had his 15 minutes..
Did Broner make paulie miss all night? ! Oh nope he got tagged all night. Remember when canelo made trout miss 5 out of a 6 punch combination? I do. Look up the criteria to score a fight. Defense is part ofit. Broner got hit with solid body shots and boxes like Floyd would if he had a seizure. Doesn't even ROLL the punches. He just gets punched in the F***in shoulder.
Trout will be a title holder again. He's a good fighter. Half the people were picking him to win on this forum.
Not the same way! Difference is Canelo outboxed Trout and Malignaggi outboxed Broner. Canelo beat the best in his division Broner did not.
You could and can argue 147 is not Broner division. If canelo jumped up 2 divs and took a paper title say off Steiglez then you have to give him some props
You usualy outbox your opponent by hitting him and not letting him hit you.Paulie did neither. He was shoe shining the whole night.I dont get how everybody can give Paulie credits for all his unlanded weak soft punches.Broner would block most of them and even when one weak jab or one weak body shot would get through,he wouldnt be bothered by it at all.And then Broner would come back with hard accurate punches that CLEARLY landed and that also clearly bothered Malignaggi.
First lets get this clear, Canelo did not outbox Trout...he barely let his hands go, what he did was land the cleaner and harder blows...same thing Broner did...around round 6 Trout was touching Canelo to the body and it looked as if Canelo wanted to quit...this other fool talking defense because Canelo avoided a lazy combo which trout was afaid to commit to is laughable... What Paulie did was attempt to out work Broner, he didn't out box him...Paulies lack of power and effectiveness was comical at times, it was amateurish...Paulie was the equivalent of a mosquito just a pest...Broner could have done more but if you were impressed with the performance Paulie put in, well its quite clear you're just another typical Broner critic... Paulie was marked up, swollen, visibly discouraged at times and had his head rocked numerous times, while Broner was unmarked, unfazed and clearly confident the entire night, I grade Broner a B- but he won 116-112...Paulie on the other hand gets a C- for thinking he could just use movement all night and throw meaningless punches and expect to win...sad...boy got busted up and looked like he was done at one point in the fight...
I think the better comparison would be Bradley vs Paquiao...however Pac was robbed as Bradley was giving the benefit of doubt for his high workrate and Pac didn't get the nod for his clean effective, harder blows...
