Canelo and Cotto would give GGG a very tough fight!

Movement is what got Monroe in trouble. GGG was able to time and unloaded full power shots while "maneuvering" Monroe into his traps. standing and trading tends to limit GGGS range as he needs room to setup his punches

willie is a good slick fighter but to feather fisted for ggg. he reminds me trout. i think canelo would be good fight i think is 50/50. cotto is to small and would get stopped by ggg even at a catch weight i think. cotto has stron jab and can move but his power at 160 want phase ggg at all. cotto as a better chance against canelo. he can go all 12 with canelo and lose a competitive but not close fight, ggg will stop him between 6 and 10 rds i think.

No Middle or blown up Welter is guna beat GGG is my opinion. Maybe Floyd, maybe, but i cant see that fight happening and there isnt really any need for it to happen unless Floyd really wanted it.

Thats not to say theres not good fights for GGG at middle if they ever want to face him. The guys in the next division up look so big compared him, he seems a small Middleweight. But maybe thats where he needs to go.

GGG Get's hit a lot, and his body is very open to good shots. The thing is, can they handle his power, that is the main thing. If they can, then they can do it. I think Canelo hitting GGG like Monroe did today...? That would be a good one, Cotto really needs to go down to 154, he isn't a middleweight.

This was a showcase fight. GGG needs to step it up... Monroe Jr. ? Move down or move up if he can't find decent opposition... I wouldn't even mind Lara vs GGG, they can sell that fight a lot easier than this mismatch... Monroe gave it his all but he was getting hurt too much the entire time. Even when he had some of his most success he was on spaghetti legs... a fighter can't stand a chance if he's getting concussions every round.

Good point, we have to remember, Monroe is an ESPN level fighter.... I think Monroe needed at least a good 2 years more to progress and then challenge. He will be a good fighter in a couple of years, in my opinion. Bright future.

Nope, maybe Canelo being pretty tough and such, but Cotto would topple over (take a knee) pretty quickly.
And also Canelo will go over at some point, there's just too much difference in power and Golovkin is too good trapping his opponents.

Canelo might hit GGG with some shots that make him retreat a couple of times, but lose almost every single round until he's eventually stopped.

Here's mine. Canelo is an incredibly patient fighter, he would counter the slower GGG all night.

GGG may pack a bit more punch, but there is no denying Canelo's defense is clearly superior to GGG's... they both have great chins but how many of Canelo's sharp accurate snapping uppercuts, straight rights and liver punches can the slower GG take...

I'm sure they both put a nice beating on each other, but ultimately I think it's Canelo's really good defense, sharp hard combinations, speed advantage and his experience against higher caliber opposition what gives him the advantage.

There is a reason why these fights havent been materialised. And they both really could have been made already and one actually should have.

I don't think either one of them beat him.

Canelo should stay at 154, until GGG gets old.

Cotto should unify for a big money fight because he can't fend off the naturally MWs for much longer.

Anyway, I think Canelo is pretty damn good fighter and he has proven it but I just think Gennady is bad style for him but would be eventually broken down.
