I answered you in another post, it's likely because he hadn't done **** with his career up that point. At the time he signed Crawford hadnt exposed Spence yet and Charlo was undisputed, Jermall? Not so much. At that point all Benavidez had done was lose his title out of the ring twice and never face or beat anyone of note while calling for Canelo just like the rest of them. During course of Canelos deal David beat what? The guy Canelo KOd in a 12 round decision and another unproven guy who has a near negative score resume pulled up from one weightclass down while already being huge for 168 lol. You cant even make up a better story than that. Your investment is funny though I'll admit.
I agree that Charlo 1 is not a credible opponent but Canelo signed a deal saying he'd fight him after his little brother and if rumour is to be believed he also had Spence signed as the final fight in the 3 fight agreement, which is ridiculous. I don't understand your unwillingness to accept that Canelo is clearly avoiding it though. It sucks and everybody wants to see Canelo v Benavidez, even you, because it's the best fight out there right now. I honestly don't know who would win which is the main reason it should be made.
Well I totally agree that the boxing world needs the fight and it needs to happen. I'm disappointed in all involved - that includes Canelo, PBC, and Benavidez for announcing he's moving to 175. What I'm no gonna do is conclude that Canelo is actively ducking the man when I don't know that, when there seems to be a lot of blame to go around. I also think that Canelo Munguia if it happens is a great fight that would satisfy boxing fans to an extent short of a Benavidez match. But the Benavidez match should still happen, the WBC should enforce the mandatory and essentially require Canelo to fight him this September. However if Benavidez does in fact move to 175 in June, then that gives the WBC the excuse to not enforce the mandatory with him campaigning in another weight class. That's what I'm worried about.
