I have nothing against Canelo, but Billy Joe Saunders was gaining some steam in their fight and I had him ahead by 3 rounds. Of course Canelo planned that perfectly timed uppercut but that BJJ fight showed to me that, a nearly perfect fighter like SRR would absolutely outclass Canelo, if a weight reach was possible ofc.
Never thought Canelo's melon was that big - but his neck is huge! A real-bull-neck, and think that helps with his head movement and abosrbing head-shots that he does get clipped with a heck of a lot. Tbf in the picture looks like perspective is a bit skewed with Canelo being nearer to the camera
Do you had Saunders ahead 3 rounds or Canelo? Because Saunders barely won 2 rounds until the brutal punch. Canelo outboxed him. Sugar Ray Robinson was demon at 147 but he was beatable at 160. Turpin beat him by fair decision and Maxim beat the crap out of him by TKO. He retired from the fight. Canelo would be the most technical opponent of Robinson. Robinson was chameleon boxer-puncher just like Canelo. I don't think anyone would "outclass" Canelo at 160 and 168. He can be outclassed at 154. Mayweather showed that.
All top level boxers are on the sauce. Alvarez enjoys HGH which always increases head size, hand size, feet size. I know someone whose foot size increased by 3 sizes.
BJJ was gaining steam round 3 and on. Never said 160, which was why I stated "if a possible weight reach was possible ofc". And Robinson would be the best fighter Canelo would step in the ring with, ever. I simply think at most weight classes SRR puts a clinic on Canelo
He lost all rounds except 5-6. 160 is the only sensitive weight between Robinson and Canelo. Robinson would kill him at 147. Yes? I am already isn't opposite to that. Yes at 147. He would knock out Canelo. At 160, I feel 60/40 Robinson. At 175, I don't know. Useless weight division for both fighters.
Of course Canelo's head isn't massive. Its a regular stalky guy's head. His neck has always been thick though, look at his pic when he was a teenager.
