Lets look at his entire resume and list quality opponents:

    Miguel Vazquez twice

The first time they fought it was a SD. Miguel is 5 ft 10 with the reach of a 6 ft tall fighter. It was a very close fight where Miguel's skill was very hard for Canelo to overcome. This assessment comes from Miguel himself.

The second time they fought at Welterweight though Miguel is a lightweight he is a very big one. He weighed around 146 pounds when he fought Zappavigna. IBF rules require a second way in the next day and you are capped at gaining 10 pounds. Miguel weighed in again in the early morning and still rehydrated a few more pounds. In that fight Miguel did everything to nullify what Canelo tried. Miguel still believes he has never lost to Canelo.

You can find a short clip of this fight on youtube and you will see that Miguel ties him up and relies on rough tactics. Keep in mind that Miguel sparred Sergio Mora...who himself called Miguel a dirty/tricky fighter.

    Larry Mosley

No relation to Shane. According to a few people this slickster gave Canelo a tough fight. The closest official score was 96-94.

    Lanardo Tyner

Is a very tough fighter who after this fight knocked out the very tough Antwone Smith for the first time in his career. Afterwards, he became a sparring partner for Canelo.

    Cotto's Brother

Caught Canelo early and wobbled him. Canelo recovered and batttered him. He moved up in weight after this fight and since has not been hurt.

    Carlos Baldomir

Though faded this was the most experienced opponent he had faced at this point in his career. Though he was well beyond his prime Canelo overcame his experience with ease.

    Lovemore Ndou

This fight was tougher as Ndou though past his prime was able to hold his own and weather the storm. Canelo had to rely more on skill in this fight.

    Kermit Cintron

Though Cintron was past his best days he still offered the challenge of having very solid power and being a physically stronger opponent. Canelo was able to dominate him and clearly knock him out.

    Shane Mosley

Canelo handled this future hall of famer quite well.

    Austin Trout

Though Trout may have outjabbed him Canelo's punches were clearly better.

I think that Canelo is going to outperform expectation. I really do not think that Canelo is not going to go after Floyd and pressure like people think unless he is actually able to hurt Floyd. Instead he is going to do many subtle things that people don't expect. Considering that very few give Canelo a chance people are gonna be surprised when they start seeing close rounds.

If Canelo comes slow for the first few rounds I will be confused :huh
I expect him, and maybe so does Floyd, to come out fast and hard only to run out of gas mid 5th round:dead

I can't say I have witnessed Canelo in a real war where he had to dig deep:think

Bottom line he has a better chance than the last 4 or 5 guys  who went ahead of him to face Floyd. I would say Cotto did very well in a few rds but he also found just how difficult it is to catch Floyd.:tong

Floyd takes him to 12 and gets an impressive UD

I just can't see him out smarting, punching or maneuvering Floyd inside the ring:smoke

:patsch Everybody with the same mentallity of "Pressha Pressha Pressshaa!!!" this wont work, Canelo already said it would be stupid to go out there with guns blazing when fighting Floyd.

Canelo will be thinking against Floyd and mixing his game up throughout the fight. Haters and doubters will be shocked on how well he can box with Floyd.
