It is hard to tell who hits harder, Beterbiev or Golovkin.

Beterbiev destroyed all his opponents with his power. But will it be as effective against Canelo? Who knows.

Canelo gets hit a lot, Caleb Plant used him in first 5 rounds as a punching bag, but Canelo didn't get hurt. If same thing happens with Beterbiev, what will happen?

How does Beterbiev destroy his opponents with those short-range hits? What kind of power does he possess? Does he hit harder than Golovkin, Kovalev, Smith and Plant?

We don't know. Only thing we know is Beterbiev is 38 next year and his chances against Canelo is going downhills. Now he has 2 options:

    • fight Canelo, get knocked out and receive your retirement paycheck (assuming Beterbiev can't hit hard enough to hurt Canelo)
    • don't fight Canelo, save your legacy

It's hard to bait a fighter who isnt looking to counter. Beterbiev doesn't really react to feints. Hes looking to get off and put the pressure on you. He doesnt react to the opponent, the opponent reacts to Beterbiev.

The only way Canelo beats Beterbiev is with a catchweight and a rehydration clause. The same way he beat Kovalev. If you wanna fight for another boxers belt at his weight you fight his weight! Canelo is cherry picking and dehydrating the fighters at higher weight classes. They take the fight cause it’s a lot of money.

i think it will be easier to show you what i mean by using video. let me find some footage from the fight last night and i will get back to you with an example. the obvious one that doesnt need video is laying on the ropes and inviting him in. something canelo is a master at. hes so good that even kovalev didnt want to take the bait and just let him be till he got off the ropes. on the ropes is the only place beve will have a chance at hitting canelo, so he will have to bite.

Why? Because you said so ?

beterbiev fought Kovalev on even terms. He is a world champion too.
You could say the exact thing about Golovkin.

Nothing about beating Berbetiev is going to be easy. I am not saying he is unbeatable or anything just that beating him won’t be easy.

You have no boxing credentials other than posting a few thousand times on a message board.

2 years from now Canelo proposes to fight Beterbiev at a 172lb catchweight. You heard it here first, folks.

People are laughing but they are confusing RJJ's freak athletic ability with actual boxing technique. Exhibit A: once Jones lost his super-speed, he got beaten up by guys he'd have clubbed 5 years before

Very tough fight for Canelo. More speed and superior skills defensively and great country puncher, but he won't deter beterbiev. So canelo will have to tough it out late on.

It's easy. In absolute terms: Beterbiev.

    P4P: Golovkin, comfortably.
