No accident imo.Have you seen where Wards eyes were focusing on?ive never seen anything like it actually as he’s focusing down there he’s coming from down to up on Kovalevs balls.
It’s one thing to get hit there and have five minutes to recover but after repeatedly being hit there he must of been in agony.

Think about how many asterisk-wins some of these posters have throughout history. Legendary fighters from decades gone have totally different records in their mind, be it from hitting an opponent when the replay shows the knee was down, or blowing weight by half a pound, or by getting favorable judging in a bout in their home country, or by their opponent waking up that day with a tummy ache, etc.

You guys keep holding onto thinking Ward got DQ'd in that fight. Have fun.

I fully believe the nut shots got him the win. I feel a focused prime Kov beats Ward, Kovs been past it years, hes had a late revival but its obvious Krusher hasn't really been about for some time. His conditioning imo was half arsed in the rematch with Ward, he was fed up

It's not completely out of realm of possibilities that Canelo stops Kov.

It's as clear as day that this version of Kov is passed prime. It's a calculated rick by GBP for this. They hopes from GBP is that Kov is prime for the taking. It's possible.

Is this how you actually determine who is better? Who had a higher ranking at any point? That's asinine man...

What are Kovalevs best wins besides Álvarez and Yarde? Old Hopkins and past prime Pascal but it’s arguable. I thought he edged the the first Ward fight but I’m not counting that as officially it was an L.

Sure. I agree with you, one can’t determine the quality of a fighter purely off ranking. But it’s generally a decent guide.

    Much appreciated :)

I think Kov's best wins are:

Unofficially for me - Ward I
    Pascal
    Alvarez

I acknowledge his resume isn't stacked for someone of his calibre. That unfortunately seems to be the case more and more with today's elite.

I wasn’t questioning the quality of his resume, after the Álvarez and Yarde wins it’s looking very good imo. If you count the first Ward fight as a win its right up there with the best resumes in the sport besides Pac and Canelo.

Canelo is slick enough to slip Kovalev’s jab and once inside Kov will be in trouble.

Power is not that big of an issue since Kov is too weary to commit to his shots anymore. Refer to his last two fights. Even if Kovalev lands something, Canelo has proven to have a granite chin.

I would say it’s possible Kov can outbox Canelo but we know how that ends in Vegas when you fight Canelo.

But I sure hope I am wrong.

I think you'd have to include SSR, Gonzalez and Usyk in that too

For me Gonzalez is definitely above Canelo, he's a clear number 2 imo.

Then Canelo and Usyk are close enough to be in either order imo with SSR as a distance 5th.
