Canelo Benavidez will not be the fight you think

When have we ever seen with Canelo in with a prime power puncher? Kovalev was a drunk truck driver at that point and GGG was literally handed his title by Canelo only then for Canelo to fight him after he had shown signs of decline.

 

I'll be rooting for The Monster, but Andrade got underneath his elbow with a really good legal shot last night late in the first round and it affected Benevidez. Canelo > Andrade. Canelo is a bowling ball. I don't think Benavidez is going to go in there and beat Canelo down. It will require craft and discipline.

That's if Canelo even takes the fight, which is not guaranteed imo.

 

Benevidez is far bigger than GGG and isn`t a jabbing fighter like Kovalev, Canelo would gas v Benevidez.

 

His body attack would destroy Canelo.

 

Canelo is strong favourite.

 

GGG couldn`t attack Canelo`s body in their first fight because his trunks were high.

 

You go with the slower, less accurate puncher with a longer upper body winning the body shot battle in a toe toe battle? I'll go the opposite direction on this one.

A 6-2 power puncher with hand speed, skill, aggression, tremendous punch selection, and accuracy and endless gas tank is tailor made for a 5-7 slow paced fighter with a mediocre gas tank?

35/36 year old GGG gave Canelo all he could handle and Benavidez is much bigger, faster and likely hits harder plus is more aggressive and relentless than GGG ever was, plus he is a more dynamic fighter who can counter well, especially with the left hook. He is a much tougher opponent than GGG imo.

I think Benavidez breaks Canelo down and by round 5, he will start pounding on him and smashing him with combinations against the ropes and stop him. If Canelo can't hurt him he is not going to be able to box and move like Plant. People still have a fantasy view of Canelo and his power which could not even stop Ryder or Charlo who came from 154 and was unscathed after 12 rounds. Did you see Andrades face after 6 rounds? I think it will be a pretty easy fight for Benavidez tbh

 

David is faster and at least as accurate, he is literally number 1 on compubox punch accuracy, plus he has a far better gas tank.

 

Benavidez waits until his opponent stops punching and Canelos shorter arms help him on the inside. If Canelo waits anymore he needs different handlers because he looks to be aging already.

 

I hate Canelo so hate to say this, but Benavidez is tailor made for him IMO.
