The main points of contention are Bivol wants fair treatment at the negotiating table and to be financially compensated more reasonably, more neutral judges, and the fight preferably to be at 168 so he actually has something to gain this time.

All of which are perfectly understandable and entirely reasonable because he

Clenelo's thieving judges did try as hard as they could to rob him, scoring a fight Bivol dominated to him by a single round which was criminal

And we all know they will try their hardest to rob him in the rematch too

These ginger lickers are in here arguing that Bivol's stock hasn't even risen after he schooled the then P4P king and face of boxing and that he doesn't even deserve what Plant, BJS 2.0, and Smith earned after doing so but when Bivol actually wants to gain something legacy wise by becoming the champ at 168 they crap on him for that too

It makes me laugh how people are defending Canelo by agreeing that Bivol has priced himself out.

Bivol has beaten Canelo already, he's the a side now. Canelo not offering him an equal split is a clear duck.

This would surely entitle Bivol to demand more $$ for a rematch at 175 which could have been agreed upon. The main issue why the rematch didn't get made is that Bivol was not interested in rematching at 175. And as I pointed out several times, a rematch at 168 for Undisputed was not possible due to the Russian ban. You have yet to address the elephant in the room which was the fact that Bivol wanted to fight for Undisputed at 168 which he could not do, not because of Canelo's unwillingness to defend his title aginst him, but because the WBC would not sanction the match.

It's unclear if Bivol was interested in fighting Canelo for only 3 out of the 4 titles, but the main point of Bivol moving down to 168 has always been to fight for Undisputed. So short of that, regardless of any of the other BS argued in this topic, the fight was never going to happen until the Russian ban was lifted or until the WBC granted Bivol an exception, which to my understanding they have not yet. And it's the same reason why he hasn't fought Beterbiev, not because Bivol is ducking him, but because he's not allowed to challenge for Beterbiev's WBC title.

Who knows if Bivol was even capable of making 168 in September, I'd imagine he'd need a long time, like 6 months to commit to come down to 168. And Bivol would risk losing his 175 title because he would have to defend that within a certain amount of time. Canelo was looking for an opponent for September, not a guy who was making unreallistic demands. My idea was for them to commit to a 2 fight deal, a rematch at 175 then a match at 168 for Undisputed if and when the Russian ban was lifted or if he was able to get an exception. But Bivol apparantly refused to rematch him at 175 so in effect that made it impossible to make for September. Not to mention demanding more $$ which only compounded the problem.

It's not a moot point because Bivol clearly wants Undisputed at 168 and he's appealed for an exception to be allowed to challenge for WBC titles. But from what I understand, the WBC has not granted it. So he's stuck wanting something that he isn't being allowed to challenge for. That's the main issue.

Now if he was interested in fighting Canelo for 3 of the 4 titles at 168, that could be made, but it's unclear if Bivol wanted to do that. He's made it pretty clear that he's willing to take the risk to move down for Undisputed. But to your point Lance, we don't know if he was willing to fight for 3 out of the 4 titles. He should be asked that by someone in the boxing media.

But I think it also speaks to the fact that it makes sense to not do the fight at 168 until the Russian ban gets lifted. Maybe by 2025 the Russian war will be over and then he could challenge for Undisputed by then. Either vs Canelo at 168 or vs Beterbiev (who is considered Canadian) at 175.

I have always said that "pro-boxing" is a horrible name, we should call the sport "prize fighting" because it is way more accurate. They fight for money, no other reason at all. NONE.

Ginger and Floyd has given the fans tons, tons of good fights that the fans wanted to watch. Being bivol's among them. Most of the fighters would have never taken canelo's or mayweather's fights, remaining comfortable always in the same weight. A good example of this is the very Bivol, who apart from canelo has fought noone and will end his career like that because he will never dare to go up or down in weight, same as gg or beterbiev.

Specially canelo and mayweather are a good example of people fighting the best available. And more specially canelo, who has fought everyone and his mother.

Who did he move up for ? The weakest title holder of course. He slipped up with Bivol though , they didn't realize just how good he is.
