Canelo Blames Bivol for negotiations breaking down

I think Bivol's management team got greedy and ruined negotiations because they had never seen that sort of money before.

For Canelo's side it's just about establishing dominance in negotiations and reminding Bivol that they are still the A-side because they are the ones who bring the money and despite their loss to Bivol, it is they who have all the power.

 

Canelo IS the A-side regardless of the outcome of their fight. It's the draw that calls it. However, as the draw and star, he also gets his words covered. He can easily claim that Bivol is killing negotiations. BUT....WHAT is Bivol asking? Has that even been established??

The best way to avoid a fight when you are a draw is to claim you made a legit offer, but throws a lowball # knowing it will be refused. Happens all the time.

He was fighting pros at 15 years old to feed his family of as we all know of course he had losses. Both Floyd & Canelo had losses too but they had the benefit of the state commission & Vegas boxing officials covering their backs. Pacquaio fought everyone available too he didn't cherry pick like the two frauds

I think Canelo's team don't want that smoke, similar to Fury with Usyk, easier to deflect and blame the other side hoping to fool the casuals.

Exactly & its fools like these Ginger / Floyd fans that have helped make that possible. I was lucky I rarely ever had to pay to see any fight But I'm 100% serious when I say I'd never go watch either Floyd or Ginger stink up the arena I'd rather watch the little peewee's duke it out

 

The elephant in the room that people keep ignoring is the WBC ban on Russian fighters competing for titles.

If it's Bivol's desire to challenge Canelo for Undisputed at 168, that's not currently possible given the WBC's ban on Russian fighters competing for titles.

As far as Bivol demanding more $$, that's perfectly reasonable given he won the first fight, however that was not part of the agreement they signed for the first fight. As I understand it, there was a rematch clause with specific terms laid out (including split/purses) in the event Bivol won. It involved the rematch being at 175 and the same purses for the first 2 fights.

So it's one thing to say that Bivol deserves more $$, I would agree with that. But it's not as if Canelo was making unreasonable demands. Bivol is the one who made new demands, including wanting to challenge for Undisputed at 168 which isn't possible right now due to the WBC Russian ban.

So lets not act like Canelo is making unreasonable demands here. It's Bivol who refused to the terms on the rematch caluse, it's Bivol who wants more $$ and it's Bivol who wants to challenge for Canelo's 168-lb titles, the latter which is impossible given the WBC Russian ban.

I do think Canelo should agree to give Bivol more $$, and I think he would agree to that if for example Bivol would have agreed to a rematch at 175. But it was the combination of asking for more $$ and for wanting to challenge for Undisputed at 168 that made it impossible. And I think the fight not happening had more to do with the WBC Russian ban than people realize. Also Bivol may have made other demands that we don't know about. But in the end I think it's good that it didn't happen and that Canelo moved over to PBC. Because there's great fights for Canelo over there, and there's always the possibility that the Bivol fight can be made in 2025 under terms that Bivol would be happy with. Of course that's if Canelo can successfully retain 3x which is no guarantee.

Exactly mate, Bivol was seen as the lighter touch, yet a complete schooling took place, I think because Clenelo's team thought that Ginger would have too much power, not remotely recognising faster and superior movement. I really enjoyed clowning the nut huggers after that fight, the taste of bitter lemon tears was glorious....I mean it really was.

I had to laugh at Ginger bragging on all his fight wins before getting to Charlo. He said its never easy to lose, especially if you've had a bad camp plus an injury . Pus I was moving up to 175 ROFLMAO
