I thought the Hydration limit was 168. i know it was at 3pm, so did he make it? if he did how the hell did he gain 6 more pounds after 3 pm before fight time? Something doesnt make sense. Source is front page
Conflicting reports.. SHO tale of the tape had Canelo at 170, Angulo at 174. Others have had it reversed..someone goofed, not sure who. In any case, just remember that water weighs around 8lbs a gallon.Fight started at what 9pm Nevada time? Thats 6 hours - plenty of time for a decent meal + plenty of water at a good pace.
I didnt know a gallon weighs 8 pounds. thats good info, that makes sense on how he could make the limit at 3pm then be at 170+ for the fight
Guys who dehydrate their organs, can make that gallon (8 lbs) disappear in less than 2 hrs & still look dehydrated [after that the rest of the body takes hydration at a slower pace]
i heard from another source that he was 166. i think it was from dan. 174 came from no source in that dudes article
Canelo look hulked out, I can see why he was 170, someone should be able to compare his 170 vs 166(from mayweather fight) and post it..:bbb
These unofficial weigh-ins should be treated warily, they happen at varying times relative to the official weigh-in and the fight - so catch the boxer at different times during their re-hydration. Also, they are a a bit slip-shop re conditions. Didn't Matthysse have a massive unofficial weight before his fight with Garcia, but it ended up he was wearing his jeans and shoes? I also heard a recent interview with Salido where he said he was normally clothed during his "147lb" weigh-in prior to the Loma fight.
