Yes I disapprove of it. I wanna see Canelo fight Scull, Mbilli or Crawford. I think I made that pretty clear. Fighting Jake Paul would be a clear cash grab and would annoy a lot of boxing fans. In my mind Jake should focus on fighting for a World Title before being in the running for the Canelo sweepstakes. That said, if it happens, I'm not gonna cry about it. It'll be a massive event and would probably set all kinds of records.

I just think when you have the opportunity to fight for Undisputed, you should take it. Especially when you already have the kind of money Canelo has. It should be about legacy, belts and accomplishments. Jake Paul doesn't check any of those boxes.

if it is not Benevidez or Bivol then who cares just retire if you keep avoiding the best.

Neither of those men have titles and they aren't in his weight class. He has to make 168 lb defenses as he's a Unified Champ. If Benavidez beats Beterbiev or Bivol then it makes sense for Canelo to dare to be great and move up in weight challenge him, as he's done in the past, and as Crawford has been doing. It makes no sense for Canelo to move up to 175 now for a non-title fight when he is a Unified 168-lb Champ.

Who cares he is dragging up another career 147 fighter, No one forced him to fight poor competition since Bivol kicked his as* people are sick of his schtick and the Paul fight is a great example of that, fight the best or GTFO.

Cool story bro. Canelo is dragging Crawford up? Did Kovalev and Bivol "drag" Canelo up, too?

Last time I checked, Crawford wants this fight more than anything and has been calling for it for years. Meanwhile Canelo has been fighting the best that 168 has to offer. Benavidez had a chance to challenge him but he chose to run off to 175. What I would say to you is that if you can't get excited about Canelo Crawford that's your loss. Stay bitter, keep crying, while we look forward to the fight.

If I was Canelo’s promoter I would steer him clear of Benavidez forever because Benavidez beats him now in 2025, and every year he puts it off it’s even more of a certainty as Canelo fades more and Benavidez gets even better.

Canelo vs Jake Paul will happen before Canelo retires because it’s low risk, very high reward. Every single potential opponent other than Jake Paul is higher risk and lower reward.

Who cares if Crawford wants the fight who is next Lomachenko lol. you should not be entertaining fights against career welterweight when you are a light heavyweight. its like Canelo calling out Usyk remember that... No one seriously expected him to fight Usyk at Heavyweight. Weight divisions exist for a reason, not to mention bud is on his way to 38 so that makes it even worse.

Exaggerations don't help your case. Canelo isn't a light heavyweight, he's a super middleweight. Bud is a title holder at 154. That's a 14-lb difference.
It's not the same thing. The gap in Weight between Canelo and Usyk is multiple times the weight between Canelo and Crawford.

Bud will still be 37 when the fight happens, while Canelo will be 35. Meanwhile Canelo has been a pro for much longer than Bud, has way more fights, way more rounds. So if anyone has more "boxing miles" on him its Canelo.

Given the Turki deal, I now see Canelo retiring at the end of 2026 with this:
May- Surace, Scull, or Jermall in Riyadh
    September- Crawford in US
February- Bivol, Sheeraz, or Eubank Jr in Riyadh (I expect Eubank or Sheeraz if he looks mediocre this year, no chance of Bivol)
May- Non-Turki stand alone event with Jake Paul
October- The best money fight left that Turki is willing to pay and Canelo is willing to take.

Bud has fought one fight at super welterweight, Canelo has one fight at light heavyweight did I call Canelo a light heavy? so no I go off of the weight they spent a good part of their career at or below not an anomaly, if bud had a few fights there then sure but he doesn't it was literally one fight where he struggled and barely beat a 10 fight novice.

3 weight classes ( the difference between weight classes grows as you weigh more and have a lot more natural size they start off at 3 pounds at lower weights because at that size 3lbs is a lot more and goes up all the way up to 15lbs) Canelo would jump 3 weight classes to fight Usyk your justification for the Crawford fight is bud called him out yet you do not hold Canelo to the same standard? Canelo called out Usyk so why shouldn't he? that is how stupid your justification is for Canelo is for repeatedly bringing up smaller fighters instead of fighting the best at his weight is because they called him out.

Bud turns 38 in September when the fight is supposed to take place. So he may be 37 for a few days but odometer is basically 38 when the fight happens.

Canelo has been undisputed. Being stripped and fighting the person with the belt again doesn't change that.

He unified all the titles and he hasn't lost at SMW.

I hope (and I'm sure we all hope) I'm wrong but I'm fairly sure that Canelo is practically retired and not interested in legacy or fighting anyone even slightly dangerous anymore. He wouldn't be the only fighter to give up when still relatively physically capable.

I think the thread has made clear Canelo fights Benavidez next, or we don't care.
