Saunders is very good. As long as he doesn't gas out past the 6th round, I could see him winning the fight... but would probably lose the decision.

So i wonder if this will be praised as a good business decision if it's at 160 and Canelo gets beat.. wonder what that does for his marketability?

Considering neither Saunders nor Canelo presses the issue in their fights this will likely be a slower paced chess match.

    Neither will gas.

Fans need to stop worrying themselves with what is and isn't good business sense. This matchup is exactly What Canelo needs to do in regards to what the fans want. Take a risky fight that will give him a lot of credit and a legitimate ranking at 160. If he wins then people will consider his Lineal title somewhat legit for the first time.

On paper they're pretty evenly matched.

Neither of them are really big punchers.
They both have tight defense and are elusive and hard to hit clean.
They both have questionable stamina and tend to gas after 6.
They both have very good beards.
They both get lazy and coast when they have match won.
They both have great timing, speed and accuracy.

BJS has the height advantage and most likely reach advantage, and is the natural MW and a southpaw like Lara, therefore he should be favored.

  7. And he will be introduced as the guy who was terrified of GGG and went with softer threat.

What? You bums were calling for BJS to fight GGG, so what's seems to be the problem?

This is comical. You bums were calling for Jacobs and BJS to fight GGG, or for Lara to fight BJS or Jacobs but since it's Canelo thinking about it, it's still not good enough:patsch

BJS beat Eubank jr and Lee bad fight for Canelo it doesn't pay as much and to drop one belt and fight for another looks like pure duck

I preferred life when Canelo was leaving the division tbh.

Considering Canelo had experience with rangy boxers as good or better than Saunders I don't think Joe gives anyone a lesson. I see Billy getting broken down by body shots and opting to jab and survive late.

I see Canelo having less power to harm anyone at MW, since he barely has any at LMW, and Saunders who believe it or not is two inches taller than Trout walking through anything Canelo throws at him and lights his ass up. Trout isn't better than Saunders, probably his equal, and Lara is a one handed one trick pony.

    Here's the probable size differential.
