As I was typing up how Saul's opposition has changed, I read this haha

As much as I enjoy GGG's presence on the scene, and believe he will annihilate Canelo @160, Alvarez has a legendary resume (+young age +only 1 loss).

If you can't respect the kid's resmue professionally, you don't understand boxing.

Who said I don't respect his resume? I said I don't think he has huge power, that's not that hard to comprehend is it?

Didn't really mean to direct that at you.

    Haha got off topic there.

Just meant to reiterate that Canelo's ko rate has dropped due to his increased opposition level.

    Canelo knocks out GG

They're hiding GGs suspect chin behind WWs

That's why he didn't "street fight" with Lemieux but against a welterweight he got brave :-(

    No problem.

And yeah I know that, but that was my point earlier, when your KO percentage stay relatively untouched the better your comp is, then that means your power is legit, if it drops off when you step up, it means while decent its not overwhelming.

He's not a monstrous puncher but to say his power is decreasing is an overstatement. He's not getting KO'S as much because his competition level is getting better and better. Mosley, Lara, Trout, Cotto, all have pretty good chins. You can't knock out everybody, but that says more about the level of competition he's faced being able to take a better punch, rather than his power decreasing. I think that's untrue.

    Hmm...

    Agree and disagree.

Canelo has also moved up/down in weight, which gets consideration under my judgment criteria on this one.

GGG has been ravaging ONE weight since his pro debut. Saul has moved up from 140.

Hey genius GGG is probably going to fight Canelo the same way he fought Lemieux.

HE COULD NOT KO COTTO, HE WILL NOT KO GGG, GET THAT THROUGH YOUR THICK SKULLS.

Canelo has a chance in beating GGG, but GGG is not going to fight Canelo the same way he fought Brook. Canelo hits a lot harder. Therefore GGG will not be bullrushing and just throw all defense out his game plan.

GGG will try to jab a bit more a try to work Canelo's body. I see GGG fighting Canelo more similar to the way he fought Lemeiux ... you know keeping his distance and working behind a jab.

Omg... You are a rookie boxing fan. I'll explain it to you. It is easier to KO, hurt, KD an opponent who is committed to his punches over a fighter who is fighting off the backfoot. Cotto was not sitting on his punches and was sticking and moving. He fought very uncharacteristically, even against Geale he was aggressive and putting weight behind his punches.

If you look at the Cotto-Canelo fight, and please do, in round one Canelo hurt Cotto badly to the body. When Cotto goes back to his corner after round one he looks like he's in agonizing pain and trying to catch his breath. From there on he fought to not get KO. Watch round 1, its on youtube.

Cotto is no bum, and he is no C or B level fighter.. He is a skilled and very experienced fighter.

Against Pac and Margarito he attempted to Knock their heads off and as a result he got battered, had he played defense he would have likely survived.

Against Mayweather he also did not fight defensively and as a result he got caught cleanly in the 12th, only time he was hurt.

Of course the Kirkland fight was meant to showcase Canelo's style, just like all of GGGs fights.

Canelo is not a monstrous one punch fighter, but when he lands his opponents feel it and fight defensively. Even Lara ran more than normal, Trout didn't dare sit on his punches and like I mentioned Cotto too fought on the backfoot. Those who stood infront of Canelo or sat on their punches got KO or battered.

You're learning boxing though. I was knew to boxing too once upon a time when I was 15. I'm 37 now.

I know this isn't boxing related, but I really believe that things are going to get really bad and soon. I don't want to go into details at this moment, but please don't make any life altering purchases. Please protect your families and try to accept Jesus Christ in your lives. If you're unfamiliar with his words, please read the Gospel to get familiar. You will find that regardless of your current position, His words will speak to you as they are definitively righteous. I recommend the Gideon's Bible. If you're lucky enough, you've seen these guys hand the Bibles out in your communities.

You have got to get familiar with Jesus Christ. You will need Him by your side now and in the future. I think the majority of people on this site are good people. Sometimes, we all just get caught up with ourselves, but we have to realize that we are merely men. We are incapable of ruling ourselves with our own words because we change those words at a whim and interpret those words in a way they were not meant to be interpreted. We can only prosper through the rules of Jesus Christ, as there is no foundation for righteousness without them.
