Canelo decides to take the Golovkin rematch in May

Imo there's noway you can give Canelo more then 5 round Max unless you totally bias

 

The narrative of the story was always going to be that he ducked one or the other..lol

which 5 rounds ? Most people thought Canelo won rounds 1-3 & 10-12 and several fans like IB thought Canelo won round 6. Also round 8 compubox lied and said Canelo only landed 1 jab but actually he landed between 7-13 jabs.

 

Exactly, if you look at the scoring criteria Canelo won the Hard Clean Punches, Defense, and Ring Generalship. Golovkin arguably won the effective aggression, but when you miss 70% of your punches, not sure if it was that effective imo.

 

I give Canelo 1,2,11,12 I didn't give him 5 rounds but alot did but that would have been it imo

 

Unfortunately for the fans (and GGG) Canelo is the draw so can let it linger to frustrate the opponent!

I think Canelo had a lot of positives to take from the first fight. He handled the power and i thought it was very very close.

He did land his money shot on GGG who carried on coming forward without flinching which must be disheartening.

I think GGG will win a decision this time.

Yes there were a close round that I gave golovkin even if I gave that to Canelo that's still golovkin winning

 

It wasn't disheartening because G started breathing heavily and had his mouth open. Fighters notice that and it gives them more confidence that their punches are having an effect. Golovkin had nothing left in the championship rounds because of all the damage the big shots Canelo landed in the middle rounds caused Golovkin to fatigue.

They were all close. Golovkin didn't dominate a single round. Even in his best rounds Canelo was getting his offense in and landing the better more eye catching shots. The rounds Golovkin won were because he was busier, not because he was landing the better punches.
