Some Floyd fans never ever want to give Triple G his props.
    Thats all

I think its just miraculous that so many people are fans of the B side from Kazakhstan, like 70-75% of people, as opposed to Canelo, the no 1 draw in the US

    LOL

You guys are just mad cuz prime Canelo didnt end GGG's career, like you were expecting 100%

Sorry but....If only there was an unbiased/ honest judge instead of Adalaide Bird, Canelo would've had yet another L on his record.

And most of the fans called the fight to a T....it was said long before that if GGG dont knock him out he gonna get screwed, and thats exactly what happened

People from all over the globe said this before the fight, so how the hell now they the ones who are unknowledgeable and DKSAB ?!? Lol

Lance Pugmire was the source of the OP.

There's no real contradiction though, Canelo has officially decided he wants the rematch, but only now do they start negotiating in earnest.

The fight is not official, but Canelo's decision is official.

For those who remember after the first fight GBP said it was Canelo's decision as to whether he wanted a May rematch. Now he's said yes.

If it happens, Canelo wins. GGG can't fight the way he did in the first. Not going to the body was unbelievable.

Are you asking who will win the actual fight?

Or how the scorecards will be read out?

How on earth is this a duck? With all the money to be made in a rematch this fight was always gonna happen

If canelo wins and then doesn’t fight BJS, that’s more of a duck, this is far from a duck

There's nothing unbelievable about it. Lemuiex's corner were imploring him to go to Billys body but he couldn't because he would have sustained more damage to his head due to the difference in hand speed.

Golovkin knew he couldn't bring his punches down on a slick counter puncher with fast hands. It won't be any different in he rematch.

What GGG needs to do this time is spark Canelo clean out.

That's a massive exaggeration. Golovkin didn't manage to beat Canelo far more decisively than he beat Jacobs. He didn't manage to beat Canelo at all, let alone decisively, let alone "far more" decisively than he beat Jacobs. Remember, he knocked down Jacobs, and Jacobs was visibly fatigued in the 12th round, a round he needed.

Canelo's power definitely bothered GGG, it bothered him so much that he didn't try to land body punches because he worried about getting countered and hurt. You're really underrating Canelo's power, in rounds 6, 7 and 8 Canelo landed massive uppercuts on Triple G, and after receiving these punches Golovkin became visibly fatigued, he started breathing heavily, his head turned bright red, he was slumped over in his corner hocking loogies. Don't get me wrong, Golovkin has a granite chin, but granite chin or not, he felt that power and he didn't like it. Golovkin being able to walk through those punches or not, they hurt. This is the quandary that Golovkin faced vs Canelo, because generally Golovkin had very good defense, he blocked a lot of Canelo's punches, but it was the punches Golovkin didn't see coming that hurt him. Meaning, it was when Golovkin got lazy trying to be "too aggresive" when he wasn't blocking (because he was punching or moving forward) that he got caught with big punches. Now, Golovkin took Canelo's best punches like a champ, had a good poker face, but don't tell me he wasn't bothered by his power because he clearly was. Poker face or not, the redness and bruising on Golovkin's face after the fight tells the story.

The casuals that agree with you about who won don't go into depth like we do here at ESB. They don't study the film, they don't debate the intricacies of the bout. It's like being a deep sea diver and not wearing an oxygen tank because the majority of the people on the street say you don't need oxygen tanks to go swimming. You're right that Canelo performed brilliantly in that match, but generally fighters who perform brilliantly don't lose decisions or don't lose decisions clearly, or the majority of fans don't think lost a decision or a decision clearly. This indicates that there's some type of bias against Canelo or external factors involved in why the majority thinks Golovkin won, which I tried to bring to light.

Nothing wrong with you thinking Canelo would lose to Saunders, but you also thought Canelo would lose to Golovkin and look at what happened, he argubly beat Golovkin and certainly was never hurt by Golovkin or in any danger of being knocked out which probably was one of your predictions at one time. Saunders speed and movement would give Canelo problems, but I find it ironic that every time Canelo does what his haters say he's too scared to do (fighting Golovkin, rematching Golovkin, etc) then there's an immediate tendency to say Canelo's ducking someone else. You can only fight one guy at a time. If Canelo beats Golovkin in May, I see no reason why (unless there's a 3rd fight in September) that Canelo would fight Saunders in September. These are the fights that the fan wan to see. If the 2nd fight is anything like the first fight, a trilogy may take precedence over the Saunders fight.

Agreed, I think Saunders is capable of beating both Golovkin and Canelo, by decision, but I don't think he's relaly capable of knocking out Canelo or Golovkin whereas I think Canelo or Golovkin could possibly knock out Saunders if they can catch him. I also think both Canelo and Golovkin would be the aggressor in a fight with Saunders.

Yeah, and this is the biggest indicator as to why it's such a stretch to say Golovkin won the decision. Here you are saying "he can't fight the way he did in the first fight" or else he'll lose a decision right? Well, that statement sounds like he was gifted a draw. The same fight happens in the rematch (probably without Byrd as a judge) and you think Golovkin's gonna lose. That statement screams that Canelo should have won the fight.

Both fighters indicated that they wanted the rematch after the first fight. Now we're waiting for Golovkin to officially agree to fight Canelo. It sounds like it's Golovkin's side that is demanding certain things before agreeing to terms. Maybe requesting that Byrd not be a judge. There's also talk about it possibly being at Cowboys Stadium or at Madison Square Garden.

He was lucky to escape with a draw, hell both guys were lucky to escape with a draw. You never know how judges are going to score a fight. There are legit reasons why either fighter could have gotten the decision. It's the classic quantity vs quality debate, volume vs clean, hard punching debate, which is why it makes this matchup such a fascinating matchup stylistiically and why we as fans like to talk about it so much. This kind of a fight and rematch is good for boxing. And for the next 4 months we're gonna talk about it beacuse we're boxing fans that can't wait for the rematch.
