They were supposed to fight in 2016 after Canelo had just beaten Cotto and GGG beat Lemieux. Instead Canelo waited for GGG to look vulnerable against Jacobs and Kell Brook then all of a sudden he's ready to fight him.

Canelo's die-hard fans on this board will disagree with you, but it's the truth. How do you need time to grow into 160, but take a fight at 164 right after all that? It's either ducking or juicing.

Golovkin fans are still furious he got the MW version of Canelo and not the 154 pound version . :touched:

Jokes aside , there's almost 10 years between Canelo and Golovkin. There was always going to be an age disparity no matter when they fought.
The Vanes fight proved Golovkin was the same as he always was. The Canelo fight proved once agaisn that there's levels to this sport :xmas2:

Difference is Wembley never fell for that, like you say only brain washed Canelo bought that crap.Truth is he was boiling down to 155 and rehydrating back up to his normal weight which has always been that of a super middleweight anyways.
LIKe you say you don’t go from fighting at 154lbs straight up to 164lbs if you aren’t a natural Middleweight, that said I’ve no problem with the timing of facing Golovkin as even an old Golovkin is a formidable foe capable, all things being equal of beating a prime Canelo twice, had this fight happened a few years before it was made the gulf in class would of been too much.
Nobody were keen on facing Golovkin in his prime,Andre Ward talked about wanting him which is a damn sight more than most who wouldn’t even say his name lol.

Fair enough comment and like you say there’s a huge difference between Vanes,Lemieux and the rest,Canelo obviously has a great defence but what about his chin.
No probs with time frame as let’s say the earliest it could of been was after Amir Khan so we talking about a years difference

Doesn't really matter. GGG/Canelo will forever be tainted in my eyes. No way Canelo won either fight and he was caught cheating. #Tainted

As much as I like Golovkin I wasn’t happy in him basically taking the cash in favour of uniting the belts like he and his BS team K2 always insisted they wanted.
Wasn’t there a genuine chance of him facing Saunders in his home country of Kazakhstan?if so then that was disappointing as he could still have fought Canelo months later.

This shows just how friggin stupid you are.... he wanted the 154 version? If he did he might have taken the 155 fight moron, not insist it be at 160. How is it you post such stupid things? Are you stupid Dino, or just not very smart about boxing?

Right its just a coincidence he happened to turn into a middleweight after GGG had 2 tough fights and not when he was steam rolling everyone. Canelo could've been in Kell Brooks spot if he had some cajones.

Canelo had the cajones to fight Golovkin twice. Once coming off surgery and a lay-off.

Golovkin could have challenged the P4P no1 Andre Ward but only had the cojones to fight Dom Wade instead. Bird balls Golovkin is one of the biggest pussays in all of boxing :smash2:

The only saviour was that both fights were high skill level and totally delivered which has probably played a part in hushing up the blatant crap that went on with Adelaide Byrd, hand wraps and the Canelo win.

Lost count of the amount of vids from pros,ex pros and the media all saying they thought Golovkin won which speaks volumes as it’s not case of being butt hurt, more that it’s what the general consensus thought.

Seen a comment on Youtube yesterday after the Fielding fight that folk who fight Canelo are gonna get accused of selling their belt/belts which sounds bad as surely it’s up to these opponents to try and get Canelo outta there as they know they can’t win by decision.
Fielding should be ashamed of his performance though, being so much taller and just allowing a smaller guy to hurt you to the body which is exactly what Canelo wants to do Andrew Fielding just says go ahead **** me up to the body I’ll even smile as your eyes doing it.

Why , because GGG called him out when he was at 154? If its a fact , then its a fact GGG ducked Lara.

Ducked a guy not in his division at all? A guy who was injured and in legal limbo leaving his promoter for a couple years?

When do you believe the fight had the best chance to be made?
