Didn't see too many people pulling for Canelo posting much just saw the fight myself in HI so time difference I missed it live, a few notes I thought it was a good fight would be interested to see what adjustments both fighters can make as someone who has been hard on GGG the last few years gotta give him credit for hanging tough and putting on a class showing in his biggest fight.
Alvarez I thought also put on a tremendous performance looking at most of the reaction I expected different from what i saw, his defense and counter punching showed and throughout looked impressive.
As far as score I personally had it a draw though think 7-5 for either is ok as well, by rd I had it
    Canelo 1(clear),2(50/50), 4(clear),8(semi close),11(clear),12(clear)
    GGG 3(close),5(close),6(close),7(clear), 9(close),10(clear).
Overall fight notes Alvarez is effective boxing going backwards, GGG when in doubt just pressures harder, close fight rematch should be interesting.

Canelo won rounds 1 - 6 easy. Maybe 1 could go to GGG.

GGG won 7 and 8, maybe nine.

    Canelo won 10 11 and 12.

Easy fight to score. GGG can't box. He's can take punishment tho.

I saw the reactions before i saw the fight, personally even though i thought it was a draw, the middle rds were controlled by GGG while Alvarez started good and ended good that long consistent stretch leaves a lasting impression but in terms of round by round I had it even. I think Alvarez's movement skewed perception Canelo moving backwards and GGG pressure gives the impression of a Golovkin type fight but Alvrez boxes very well on the backfoot imo.

C'mon Kush. I for one thought GGG would win by KO. But the 10-2 card is exactly what a lot of GGG fans thought would happen. How any Canelo fan can defend that is beyond me. She turns in a more reasonable card like 7-5, sure. But 10-2? It's obvious she was on the take.

And it was a good fight. Canelo used his movement to stay out of range. Though he did gas and gave away a lot by laying on the ropes. He also only fought in spurts, while GGG controlled the pace.

I agree with you first point and honestly feel with Alvarez that's the only controversy, not the results of fights but how they got there if the Lara fight was still an SD with scores of 115-113x3 with Alvarez winning 2/3 No one would cry robbery, but him winning a SD with one card being 117-111 makes it look like a bs decision.
Same with last night I think a draw if it was 7-5,5-7,6-6 No one would be up in arms about it hell I think if Alvarez won a split decision by razor close scores last night there wouldn't be complaints all it takes it one off card though to change people's attitudes.

    That's the bandwagon fallacy.

You know how it's a fix when someone posts a thread on a boxing chat site a week in advance that says can Triple G overcome the already written scores of 118-110 and 114-114 and then ends up looking like Nostradamus.
Triple G chased "Mexican style" all over the ring. Good fight Canelo if he had better stamina could of won but he lost.
    Clearly

I just dont think Canelo ended good. I think i gave him the last round but 10 and 11 im sure other than a short attack at the start of the rounds it was 1 way traffic in Golovkins favour. Im sure i also the Mexicans legs buckle a couple of times.

Im beginning to wonder if alot of Boxing fans fall for a bit of eye catching shots from eye catching angles with eye catching power and ear catching sounds. Even if it lands on nothing but gloves are arm.

The counter argument is lots of fans score with their hearts and put too much weight on aggression even if it is ineffective. Golovkin did not win that by a landslide, that's for sure. That was an evenly contested fight.

GGG hesitated to go to the body because was getting countered.

He was also missing approx. 50% of his punches.
He was also slightly staggered in the tenth.
He was overwhelmed by combo flurries in the twelfth.

GGG was clearly outpointed in these rounds:

    1, 2, 5, 6, 11, 12,

    GGG clearly won these rounds

    3, 4, 7, 8

The remaining rounds 9, and 10 were even or extremely close.
