I was active on both twitter and this website when the fight was going down, people were getting worried. Canelo was starting to look desperate at times. It wasn't until the 10th round when caleb started to break down due to stamina issues.
canelo started to actually fight in round 8/9. I just didnt like his strategy. Plus, he looked like completely off. I've read many comments of people saying that they had never seen canelo so unfocused, well, I totally agree. That's not good, btw, this is the road that leads to defeat.
Maybe they were, but if they were I kind of missed it. I had Plant ahead, but I didn't think for a minute the judges were seeing it that way. Surely everyone invested in Canelo would have been confident that closing strong would have done the trick?
remember the round where caleb started backing up canelo against the ropes and became the aggressor? That was some good work. I bet the judges gave that round to canelo too.
Most people predicted a KO around the 8th round so they might have been nervous that the KO might not happen but I doubt anyone was nervous about Canelo losing the fight since he was ahead on the scorecards and Caleb was slowing down.
After the KO I still scored it a draw. I am not a sheep. I think for myself, my own way. Not the way the boxing "establishment" want me to think, with their rules and their scores and their outcomes.
If Plant was able to punish Canelo everytime he whiffed with his predictable combo's then he'd have had an easy night Let Canelo off too easy Does Canelo ever double anything up? No jab walking forwards like a blob Was poor
