Canelo finally lists his price for fighting Benavidez: $150 or 200 million

Benavidez's response to Canelo on his IG:

@canelo if I have nothing to offer then why are you demanding you get 150-200 million to fight someone who isn’t worth anything? Hopefully after you make that 150 million you have enough left over to buy a pair of nuts.

I beg to differ, Fury's purse is estimated to be near or in that same window if you've followed the talk about his fight with Usyk.

 

Funny that when Avni Yildirim is Canelo's WBC mandatory, he has no problem with facing his mandatory straight away

But when David Benavidez is his WBC mandatory, he freezes him out for years, and demands $200m otherwise he won't face him

The length of time Canelo has ducked Benavidez for, along with the ridiculous excuses (most notably "I don't fight Mexicans" but has no problem fighting Mexican Jaime Munguia) makes this one of the worst ducks of all-time.

 

Even funnier, Avni Yildirim had been mandatory longer than Benavidez before he got his fight.....

$100 million I believe is the narrative (which I'm still skeptical of), but that's a lot less than $150-200 million.

There have been reports as high as 170 iirc. That's higher than 150. I'm sure the Ngannou embarrassment put a dent in that final number but the fact it was discussed that high makes it perfectly acceptable for the top star in the sport to discuss, key word discuss The same number.
