If your KOV you know your career is coming to an end. Your not going to beat the current champions in your division and even if they agree to fight you the payday is small. What do do? Your done at the top level in less then a year. You can be one of those former world champions who just take fights for the payday but that way doesn't last that long once you start to lose. BOOM offered a fight with Canelo. MILLIONS you stand to make basically setting you up for the rest Of your life. But there's a catch to it,.............. So it isn't out of the realm of possibilities that it could happen. I can tell you that was a strange fight and KOV did appear to be throwing pitty pat punches. I think what happened is KOV looked shot in his fight with Yarde who lets face it is a total novice. Canelos people saw that and Canelo wants belts. So the thinking is KOV will agree to ANY demands we make in order to secure the payday of his entire career. KOV for his part is like I'm getting paid so I'm just going to go through the motions and make it look good - and afterwards I don't have to ever box again which he hasn't.
you can build a narrative like that about pretty much every fighter and situation ever. its no task at all when youre free to interpret reality in any way you like. question is why? why not just go with what you know to be true.
Bivol would beat Makabu and so would a host of other light heavyweights and super middleweights.. even old Pascal would have a shot.. its not special at all
The kovalev fight looked fishy to me, not to mention the way kovalev was acting before and after, and the over exaggerated manner he fell onto the ground. I am not saying it was a fix, and it very well could have been 100% real, but it just was off to me. The rest of canelos fights look fine. He is following the mayweather blueprint of heavily stacking the cards in his favor.
No you can't. If a fighter is at the top of his game he wouldn't be inclined to throw a fight as he would have the potential to fight for more years or land a bigger fight in the future. That would only work if a fighter who used to be on top is now facing the reality of not being on top due to age or a number of factors. KOV problem that on top of getting older he has always hit the bottle pretty hard. If you think the KOV vs Canelo fight looked normal then you need to research it as it was an awful performance of one fighter pulling his shots.
That’s the problem with people who can’t tell the difference between real punches and real fight situations because of their ignorance, they assume everyone else is just as ignorant. You don’t know what I know, stop pretending you do.
The fight w/ Kov was not fixed. Didn't need to be. Kov was done before the fight already. Shot fighter and 7 weeks.... No need for any type of fix.
Right I forgot your the expert. Pretty sure I know when somebody is pulling punches as its pretty obvious and KOV really didn't do a great job. Now everyone is "ignorant" because they disagree with your position but somehow your opinion somehow should be valued above others even when its been pointed out how someone could and would throw a fight. No one in thier right mind thinks the KOV vs Canelo fight was normal in the least bit. And it wasn't.
I think it was a fix in the sense that he had absolutely no chance to win hence why he was selected in the first place. Because truthfully everyone knows if he's at the top of his game Canelo wouldn't go anywhere near him.
Or maybe he should have done what your hero did and simply line up overly matched hopeless bums and knock them out in 2 rounds. Nothing "fixed" is required there, right?. Ignorant simple minded moron.
Naah , not knowing wtf you’re talking about makes you ignorant. Time will reveal to you what I know now.
Loving boxing is loving the sport. Thinking there is a fix then how can you really love the sport. This is not a possible conspiracy subject, we get into this for fun and spectator. Why even watch it if you think it is a fix? Then if the result is not what you want, you scream fix? This is just boxing, and a great sport. Enjoy it.
