I agree that if Canelo defeats Bivol WITHOUT JUDGING CONTRAVERSY it adds to his legacy. Bivol is a legit LWH champ.

 

Then canelo would capitalize on it, he break down Saunders even further and knocks him out on any of the remaining four rounds.

 

Possible, though how would he be able to tire out Canelo when he was already worn down in the late rounds unlike Canelo who could corner him just like he did with Smith and Plant.

 

Canelo more likely would've broken Saunders down even more, slowing him down. The fight was competitive and Saunders was gassing. Canelo would've won the late rounds imo though it's all speculation

I don't really follow boxing across the weight divisions which is why I'm going to sound uninformed when I ask this question...

Is it a weak light-heavyweight division at the moment with Bivol having made eight successful defences of his world title after only nineteen professional fights?

Turns out he didn't know how to do this.

That jab - actually many variations of it - won Bivol the fight. I like how he took on board Kovalev's successful use of the pawing jab to keep Canelo off balance and nullify attacks before they could be conceived - and importantly conserve energy - then switching it up to a more spiteful variation which scored points and made openings for effective combinations.

Then after scoring attacks, his faster more educated feet got him out of trouble and back into range when he chose. It was a masterful performance...
