Look at the boxrec consensus fans score. It was 116-112. I had it one round different. I dont respect anyone's opinion that says GGG only landed two jabs in the first round, those who believe that trash have zero credibility.
So Punch stats are unreliable. I think we need to determine with our own eyes how many jabs both GGG and Canelo landed in round 1. You might have counted more GGG jabs landed than 2 but then again you might end up crediting Canelo more than 2 jabs as well. If we count the glancing or half blocked stuff. And do you agree that Canelo outlanded GGG in round 1 in terms of overall punches? Is your argument that GGG was outlanded that round but that his jabs were better so his quality jabs won him the round despite being outlanded, that GGG's jabs landed better than Canelo's power punches? Surely you saw Canelo landing the better more eye catching power punches that round.
Totally disappointed, I was expecting the GGG that showed up around the 8th to show up around the 3rd or 4th, but he pulled a Loma. I can't say I was impressed by Canelo either. Quite frankly, it looked like two past it scared fighters who were scared of both getting hurt and of gassing.
Why do you think GGG was that cautious? And do you think GGG is shot, or do you still think he has some good wins left in him? I don't think he's shot at all, I just think he fought far too cautiously, and he could have taken more risks. As far as Canelo, yes he gassed late, but he landed some good clean shots on GGG in those first 8 rounds. He did control much of the fight, he did come to fight, GGG really didn't. But I'm not one of these people who think GGG is shot or wasn't capable of doing better.
I think he was afraid of getting hurt to the body, so he wanted to wait until Canelo gassed a little before putting him under intense pressure. Much like Loma did against Teofimo. Hence why I said he pulled a Loma. No, I don't think GGG's completely shot, just that he can't pull the trigger quite as well as he used to, and his reaction time, while sharp enough to beat most, isn't quite sharp enough to hang with Canelo, so he had to fight smarter, and he waited just a round or two too long to pick up the pace. Clearly the judges were in a generous mood that night, had he put his foot on the gas in the 6th, and not let up, he'd have probably walked away with a W.
It was wider than 116-112 on average. It was 116.2 - 111.85. And the fan scoring of Round 1 was 9.72 - 9.30 Canelo. So the round 1 that you gave to GGG was a clear Canelo round according to that poll.
Enzo Maccarinelli had it 9-3 Canelo "and that’s being generous" This content is protected Claressa Shields had GGG winning only 2 or 3 round max. So 10-2 or 9-3. This content is protected Jason Quigley had it a "comfortable win" for Canelo This content is protected
The poll is the poll. I know what i see without the biased comentators. They are constantly talking b.s. for the house fighter or golden goose.
Bro you cite a fan scorecard, you round it up and down to the nearest whole number to make it seem closer, then you ignore Round 1 who the fans scored overwhelmingly for Canelo.
As you are for the first two fights. Canelo said he knew from the first round he couldnt KO GGG. Why was that?
Of course it was Canelo aka "El Pollo Rojo". He was going to "end Golovkin's career" and "KO him". Don't you remember "the story of the fight" from GGG 2? Hell if I have to go with that angle I could make an argument that Golovkin won. Clenelo couldn't find enough drugs in the whole of Mexico to enable him to knock out Golovkin, no matter what he said before the fight. He failed big time to make any impression on a boxing ancient and the fight ended off with him getting beaten around the ring by gramps Only Shadow could spin this as some sort of major victory. Maybe if he brings the SUPER ZOOM CAMERA from the Flat Earth thread he might be able to see the extra punches that knocked GGG out
