Canelo GGG mess. Who is to blame for 2017

Look at the alts of the booted Canelo nuthugers. You can guess who they are.

 

Canelo is the A side and the guy taking all the risk , its only normal to offer GGG the short end of the stick.

The fight heavily favours GGG. He should be happy with just the guarantee that Canelo steps into the ring with him.
In his position you say 'yes' to everything.

Last year it was Canelo who ducked. This year it seems to be GGG.

 

It's not exactly guarentee though. Saying yes would mean for GGG to miss out on his probably only opportunity to become the first undisputed champion in over a decade, stay inactive for another 6 months and in the meantime pray that Canelo/Chavez fight isn't remotely competitive enough for GBP to warrant a rematch and also pray that Floyd doesn't decide to put on a freak show against McGregor on Cinco de Mayo.

Exactly, but americans, and when I'm saying americans I'm talking in general, not the hardcore american fans of boxing, will root for a mexican fighter or an Asian fighter like Pac, but wont root for the Europeans and for damn sure wont root for East Europeans.

 

Thats not true imo. A Philippino did so because he fought people and challenged himself. G doesn't. Canelo has atleast fought names and it gives him the slight edge. Also people need to start respecting the reality of money and business. Just because a fight is projected to be huge doesn't mean a fighter should get paid more than what he deserves. Numbers never lie. If I owned a business, I wouldn't pay an employee more than he garners because he has a marginal group of people who also believe he should get paid more. We would look at figures and then I would kindly fire his ass lmao. That's not how business works. G has no case for a 15 million dollar payday period.

 

I dont think you read my post. I just posted what K2 wants and its not 15 mil, its just a piece of the pie, could be 35% of the pie. They never said they want 10 or 15 mil

 

35% would equal more than 15 million. He's in no position to make any demands of what piece of pie they want.

 

The truth be told, it's too early to say. The deal cannot be announced before May 6 (Canelo-Chavez Jr), the real negotiations are only occurring now.

Before that it's just posturing and keeping the fight in the news.

 

Also, an important part to Pac's ppv succes was Floyd and his big mouth, and the potential big fight with him. And lets not forget De La Hoya and what he did for those two.

At Mw theres no stars, same at SMW and LHW. All the big names with huge fanbases were at welterweight

K2 did the maximum they could. Same as GGG who targeted the other top fighters at his weight and fought all mandatories. He's not overhyped and people see this like your implying.

And yea I agree with you, the arrival on the mainstream scene of the UFC with their stacked cards and shorter fights hurt the ppv boxing sales. UFC wasnt as big 5-6 years ago, and much less 8-9 years ago

 

Do you project 100 M or more in ppv sales? Because the promoters take 42.5 of ppv sales. So 35% of 43 MIL would come to around 15 M.

They'd have to sell 1.4 - 1.5M ppvs to make 100 M, if I'm not mistaken

 

This is very very simple, Alvarez was MANDATED to fight Golovkin. There was no if's or but's, if he wanted to fight Golovkin all he had to do is hold onto his title - or if he wanted to hold onto his title, he had to fight Golovkin - depending on how you want to look at it.

He vacated his title, the fight hasn't happened. As far as I'm concerned ANY rubbish Alvarez or DLH say means nothing, actions speak louder than words.

 

In the past I truly feel Oscar was talking Canelo into other fights just for the cash and Canelo has always wanted the fight. Why else would he give that BIG BAD SPEACH just to look foolish in the end....$$$$/ Oscar

Now if in this physical year Oscar offers GGG a 30 percent split he best take it and make this FIGHT.

30% is in reality a short term sacrifice for LONG TERM GAIN (IF GGG can beat the Big Red Machine)

And they wont sign anything because of the potential Chavez rematch.
And Loeffler said that if Golden Boy doesnt give them something written that Canelo vs GGG happens in September, then he cant sit waiting hoping for the best

I dont honestly dont think this fight takes place in 2017. My bet is Cinco de Mayo 2018

 

Yea Busta , I think Canelo really thought that night after the Khan fight, that he was fighting GGG next.

But the next day Oscar got into his ear, told him about the marinating recipe and how that works, and about the age factor too, and Canelo went with it, but he easily could've said" F××× that I'm not vacating the green belt"
