Even though he didn’t fight SD I don’t believe he ducked SD, however I think the SD and Saunders fight improve his legacy because they are likely to be wins imo. Then he is undisputed, at that point Canelo has to come to him anyway because he is the man at 160 and he brings money to the table. GGG goes into that fight active, sharp and regardless if he wins or lose he will be in the history book as undisputed.

It's hard to see what wins over Saunders and SD would do. For one, Saunders hasn't been the most consistent fighter. Plus he failed a UA didn't, which opens the can of worms to how long, and when has he used. SD just doesn't have the resume where it improves on 3G's. IMO.

i agree that ggg won the first and lost the 2nd. not only do i think he got outboxed second time, but he got beat up.
im also in agreement that everyone, including ggg's whole team, said and believed that ggg needed to start early, go to the body, and get a ko, because youre not going to get an equal shake. instead, ggg goes out and tries to outjab him? who the hell is gonna buy that? canelo played perfectly into what everyone and their grandmother was saying ggg needed, cooperated fully, and ggg tried some jedi mindtrick instead? gtfoh.

As long as GGG stays upright his loyal trolls will always claim the moral victory

Canelo beat him like a drum

If he fights Callum Smith he won't make it in to the championship rounds, hopefully he signs the contract.

GGG won their fights 8-4 and 7-5. He lost to Lara too and should have four losses on his record. That's nothing to be ashamed of, since he's fought the best. What's shameful is all the gifts he's getting. He's a great fighter but I can't think of any other who's ever gotten so many gift decisions.

Usually, fighters have one gift and maybe one robbery on their resume. PAC has one gift over Marquez but he got robbed by Bradley and Horn. De LA Hoya got robbed by Shane and Tito, but got a gift against Sturm. These things are supposed to even out and not always go the same way. On the other hand, Marquez, Whitaker, and Martinez all seemed to get robbed three times without ever being the beneficiary of any gifts.

Canelo and Floyd are the only fighters I've ever seen get the benefit of every doubt and be on the lucky side of every bad decision. If you don't believe in chance, then that means there is corruption surrounding their careers and that's very bad for boxing.

If you can't trust the judges to render fair decisions then what kind of sport is this? If you can't trust officials to correct the more egregious miscarriages of justice, then what's the point of having commissions? Why have records and decisions at all if we're not all playing by the same rules?

He (Canelo) shouldn't come running to the fireplace on xmas day in search of presents. he already has a couple of them.

In this post you admit that you cannot beat Canelo straight up, because Canelo has the judges and the money behind him. You say as much. The reality is, GGG was the champ and to give a very close fight to the challenger goes against what we all know to be true. Canelo didn't take the title from GGG, he had it handed to him by fighting well against the champ. This is wrong by any measure. Canelo did not outpoint GGG, he fought well and was handed the title for performing well. That is not good enough. Canelo represents what is wrong in boxing, where corruption lies. Independent writers and observers had it overwhelmingly for GGG. So, you can be smug and gloat about how Canelo beat GGG but your logic flies in the face of reality. GGG won both fights, the second one being a bit closer, but still a clear victory for GGG.

I agree with the OP in that everyone knows you aren't getting a fair shake against Canelo. Even Mayweather ffs got a jobbed card against him. Golovkin HAD to have known going into the second fight that he HAD to KO Canelo... he didn't do it, and him allowing Canelo to be the aggressor in the second fight certainly skewed peoples opinions. I had GGG winning both, but he didn't do what he needed to do.

Is it right? No and I hate it, but people who watch boxing need to STOP living in a fantasy world where they believe the best fight the best and the scorecards are going to be fair. It'd be awesome if it was but boxing is the most crooked sport, maybe EVER because it is so easy to control.

If someone steals your car (twice) you're not simply going to man up about it.
