If the fight is anywhere near close do you HONESTLY think GGG has a prayer of getting a decision. C'mon no BS ing . You know if GGG really wins the fight 8-4 Canelo will het a SD win Moretti's card will read 118-110 Canelo & you know it

Byrd has never had a favorable Canelo card.

Moretti is the one who had the 119-109 against Cotto (bad)
Also had Mayweather-Canelo 116-112 which is pretty bad.

Trella had Golovkin 115-112 over Jacobs (bad)

i understand this point of view.

however theres always people that agree with the judges and disagree with the judges. these are opinions and both sides usually give there opinions on a fight.
so theres no factual degree to 'judging' a sporting event unless its a clear cut victory wither way. in all sports usually.

Yes, but some of the judges have a long record of bizarre decisions, there is such a thing as good and bad judging.

If a referee has an impeccable record then accusations of corruption are unfounded. However, a reputation of unfairness justifies suspicions of corruption.

So reputation is the determining factor.

This isn’t to say that all mistakes are equally reprehensible. No one is perfect and mistakes will be made. So we have to consider frequency and kind.

    Frequency:

Is the mistake common in his fights or does it always seem to happen during cash-cow events where a lot of money is involved? Sooner or later the fans will begin to notice a pattern and make the inductive leap.

Is it excusable or easily avoided? For example, is it one where the ref would need to be blind not to see?

    Examples:

Calmly allowing repeated elbowing, lacing, low blows, rabbit punching, head-butting, wrestling, excessive clinching without ever issuing a warning.

Even worse is calmly allowing it by one fighter while vehemently warning and then deducting points from the other fighter for the same offenses.

Do a refs who behave that way repeatedly deserve to be suspected of corruption? I say they do. In fact, mere suspicion doesn’t cut it. They should be fired just as any other incompetent worker is. But they aren’t and the question is why.

    i understand your reasoning.

wouldn't it be mad if the judges named went in GGG's favour.
would people have a problem in a close fight? as im sure they would if canelo was favoured lol

surely then it would be bought to the forefront by sponsors and people who put the money into the fights. i mean the commissions put very little in compared to promoters and sponsors.

khan cried enough after he got a poor (in most peoples view ) decision and got it looked into.
    how come others dont?

I would also be equally unhappy if GGG won by robbery.

The thing is simply that most robberies favour the house / A-side fighter, so it's a less likely scenario.

I have no idea, IMHO boxing is far too tolerant of biased/hometown decisions. If you are a judge, and a round was very close, you'll score it for the house fighter because you know you are expected to give the A-side the benefit of the doubt.

How are they going to up the ante in the rematch? I did not think they could make it much worse for Kovalev in the Ward rematch but they did. Perhaps they will just double GGG's pay and have him sell Canelo his belts. Lord knows at times it looked like he carried him in the first fight.

Disgusting reading through this old thread and seeing who thought this would not be a problem and even worse the freaks claiming nobody had the right to suggest any wrong doing until it actually happened.

Figured Pimp C was was at the forefront of the nothing to see here contingent.

I agree, its hard work reading through some of these posts from so called boxing fans who come across like they work for Golden Boy or the Nevada State Athletic Commission. To be a boxing fan and not know about the corruption in the sport is beyond ignorance, its agenda driven. How can ones loyalty as a fan of a certain fighter, go so far beyond the fighter, to not only defending the promotion, but the commission and even the selection of judges? This **** needs routing out and a solution found because i guarantee there were brown envelopes on the move that night like on so many other big fight nights. Doesn't just leave a bad taste in the mouth, it destroys any confidence in the sport.

I think these fans know all about the corruption but go along because it benefits their boxers or targets a fighter they dislike. Ironic because in their personal lives these fans are very social conscious in terms of inequality and injustice and do not trust entities with too much power and influence yet seem to abandon these ideals when themselves are beneficiaries or there boxing World view is benefited.
