GGG was chasing him, Martinez chased him for years, even Froch that got a nose job and promptly stuck it in his wife's silicone was willing to risk it all for a fight with Chavez. His chin is done after Fanfara beat him into submission and Martinez used it as a piñata. All benedit, no risk.

-Liam Smith was an undefeated World Champion. Perhaps unproven, but a World champion none the less. Not a big win, just a nice title grab.

-Chavez Jr is a big SMW with tremendous power and body attack. Sure he isn't elite, but he's definitely a world level fighter and has the tools to hurt any fighter especially a JrMW moving up two weight classes. Imagine Miguel Cotto fighting Chavez? You can't because it wouldn't happen, itd be Margarito-Cotto just with a much bigger powerful version in Chavez. While Chavez is moving down 4.5 pounds in weight Canelo is moving 10.5 pounds up to a weight is not acclimated too. We saw what happened to Brook's face when he moved up a little over 10 pounds to fight a puncher. It may be a walk in the park, it may be his hardest challenge, we really do not know how Canelo will be at the higher weights.

-Lara was and is the best JrMW. He is the more proven, and the more accomplished out of all the 154 lbers.

-Trout is also a very good fighter who arguably beat Charlo, and schooled Miguel Cotto with a very hard style.

-No other JrMW is as accomplished as Canelo, or Lara. These are the top two and Canelo beat Lara. Now that he's beat the top 3 most accomplished JrMW in Cotto, Lara, and Trout he is moving north.
