Canelo-Golovkin 3 - Is 168 at 40 too much for GGG?

    No.

Golovkin at 168 is too much for Canelo.

Canelo won't even know what hit him. I expect the knock out in round 10.

Nice video Rums. Smart money would have to be on Canelo. But I thought 3G looked good v Murata, maybe a bit of rust.

Don't exaggerate Canelo so much. He is made of flesh and bones. To be honest, he was not that good against BJS and Plant. If it were a hard hitter and more skilled boxer instead of those two, Canelo would have already counted the stars.

I loved Golovkin's performance against Murata, he looked very strong and durable. It was his best and most convincing win in past 5 years.

After Bivol damages and breaks Canelo with hard lightheavyweight punches, there will be little vitality left in Canelo.

At 168, Golovkin will be even stronger and finish off the remains that Bivol left of Canelo. Justice will have been served and all boxing lovers around the world will be satisfied that Golovkin rightfully avenged for what has been robbed from him 4 years ago.

One thing I noticed in the 2nd Canelo fight, the Derev fight and in the 1st 4 rounds against Murata. Golovkin has a difficult time if he can't come forward. Murata had success backing GGG up and I don't see how he can back up Canelo at this stage . Add to that a decline in hand speed coupled with Canelo being stronger and hitting harder at 168 it appears to be a big mountain for GGG to climb. I'd say if Canelo comes through the Bivol fight unscathed the odds are he will stop GGG sometime in the later rounds when the ref intervenes to stop the punishment. And that's something I'd hate to see.

By the way, how do you know that the 3rd fight will be at 168?

GGG is borderline shot and his legs are gone, his reaction times and speed have slowed even more than they already had since their first two fights. That loss in speed and reaction times is what imbued Clen with the courage to finally man up step out of the coop because he knew that these were things he could exploit with his youth and style and that it was a huge advantage for him and a huge disadvantage for GGG.

He also knew that facing a prime or closer to prime GGG who wasn't on the decline was a far too risky assignment. Hence why he wanted nothing to do with him and went duck crazy.

Hell, he was still so fearful of him he had to jack himself silly with PEDs for the rematch and even though GGG had clearly declined significantly from the first fight he still had to age him out till he was over 40 before going anywhere near him again. That is what we call ****house behaviour on the street and it gets you zero respect from the real OGs.

But against this decrepit, slug slow, wooden-legged sloth reflexes and reaction times GGG that gutless ginger toad will be able to exploit it to the maximum. Hopefully GGG just goes balls to the wall power punch crazy and puts it on him like he stole his mother's purse because he might get lucky and clip his ass.

Did not watch video. At work. So, forgive me if you mentioned this, but there is a small issue regarding some dude named Bivol or something like that. Not a foregone conclusion Canelo gets past him to make the 3rd fight with Golovkin.
If the Golovkin fight happens, Canelo wins. G is getting hit too much now, he was breathing hard after the 3rd round against Murata, age will be the obstacle that blunts G's success in a fight with Canelo.

I couldn't agree more. This is exactly how I see GGG approaching the third fight. He will put it all on the line and look for a KO.

Canelo doesn't have to beat Bivol to fight Golovkin for the 3rd time.

Even if he loses to Bivol (which is impossible), he will still fight Golovkin.

Golovkin and Canelo's defense and chins are just good enough for each other not to knock the other one out.

Not in these GGG years, not in that category; not at all,
It would be just an opportunity for Canelo to justify 1.5 points from two fights, and that would only inflict even more shame on boxing.

He fought at 165lbs as an amateur.
    He's spent 17yrs fighting professionally at 160lbs.

He looked thicker and heavier in the upper body than ever before against Murata.

It may be a real relief on his body at 40yrs old to just go to 168lbs. May also improve his conditioning and power.

Clenelo is (very) short and stocky at 168lbs, against someone else it could be a problem...against Clenelo it's not a problem.

He will be better @ 168, than his current 160 for sure but still past prime in speed and reflexes.
Stamina and power will move up a notch, durability too.

I think the heavier they weigh the better it will be for him. 175-180 even would slow Canelo down.
Canelo's speed and reflexes are the killer in this fight. GGG still punches harder and is the physically stronger naturally bigger guy.

GGG should have been 175lbs about 5 years ago in honesty.
