Fighters decide what weight they are comfortable agreeing to fight at and show up to the weigh in at that weight. Pretty simple process.

ISAL...the bottom line with these guys is....their frail egos are tied to ggg's shiny record.....they can come in here and brag about him and live vicariously through his relatively weak accomplishments.....it gives them a feeling many of them lost when their hope, manny pacquiao, dashed their dreams....when floyd couldnt be bested and manny got ktfo it all went down the drain...now they hold onto gggs shiny record as some sort of token or medal...as if to say "ha look at me now...you thought i was down but im back again"....

theyd rather him be unbeaten destroying whomever...than actually risk his record and prove something....because then theres the possibility theyd be back at square one and talking up loma all day and night.....or some other EE fighter that is here to wreck all the blacks and americans....

If you take into account height, reach, and walking around/fight night weight, then Canelo and GG aren't that far apart.
