When did Pac become a murderous puncher? His punches have never sounded like shotgun blasts. Oscar was drained. Pac threw the entire kitchen sink at him and couldn't get a proper stoppage. Pac threw the kitchen sink at Cotto and couldn't get a proper stoppage. Bayless stopped the fight out of pity/drama, but Cotto could have easily finished on his feet. The Hatton KO was nice, but that's because Pac retained more of his lower weight power because he only weighed in at 138. Majority of guys go into survival mode not due to brute force, but speed, angles, and power and they can't read him. Pac, physically, is very weak. He gets bullied easily in the clinches and he's always literally bouncing off people. Blocked punches often send him flying back. Clenelo is built like a tank and he's insanely strong. Basically, Pac was slower w/ less power at 147. Clenelo became faster, much stronger, and much harder hitting in his weight climb. And he's been weighing in right near the limit at 160, 164.5, 168, and 175 always looking hulked out and never chubby/fat.
Pac retaining his power by weighing in at 138. For De La Hoya, Pac weighed in at 142. Are you saying those extra 4lbs cut down his power?
Very strange. Canelo at 154 couldn't stop Matthew Hatton (a blown up 147lber). Couldn't stop an old shot, blown-up, undersized Mosley. Couldn't stop a shot blown-up, undersized Cotto. Went 6 rounds before stopping a chinny, undersized Khan. Now he's breaking bones, dislocating shoulders & stopping bigger, stronger fighters with relative ease. Somethings off.
Actually yeah, placement & timing is everything. It’s why a body builder can get sparked out by a “proper fighting man” facts homie, let go of your hatred It will impair your vision.
Canelo has likely been on PEDs a long time, but it's only since he left 160 that his power seemed to be upped a cler notch, and this has also coinceded with that he seems to focus less on combos and more on single power shots. Likely a deliberately change for facing bigger guys.
That literally makes no sense. This is why I asked you to explain it. How did those extra 4lbs take away his power?
Canelo’s punching power has improved. I wouldn’t call him a devastating puncher at 168, even after this performance. He beat a career 160 pounder in BJS and will beat Plant. GGG is fading but still has a good chin. If Canelo knocks him down or out and continues hurting guys and getting legit KOs, I’ll have to admit he’s become a legit power puncher at 168. The shot that busted BJS’s eye socket was good but didn’t knock him out. It was well placed and solid. Sorry to see a fight end with an injury even if not was legitimately caused by a punch. Great performance by Canelo. I’m glad it didn’t go to the scorecards. He’s definitely improving with each fight. I particularly admired his poise and discipline on Saturday. Good fight.
