Guerrero was a good gauge to see where mayweather is at. he showed he still got it. Canelo will have a difficult time... but he can't be cuddled forever. He fought trout, now do as the past fighters in other eras have done, beat the guy from the generation that came before him while he is still good and on top.

talk about activity, remeber canelo-mosley? canelo landed more punches on mosley than pacman and floyd did.. styles make fights, floyd beeing smaller than canelo will allow him a different style than trout..

Canelo is too green. When fighting Floyd its more of a mental fight than physical. Canelo was getting frustrated by Matthew Hatton. He won't be ready to guess if Floyd is going to the straight right, right sweep, jab, jab to the body, left hook, etc. he's not ready and I think Floyd knows this. Canelo's game plan is just like everyone else. Hope to land a big shot. He tries to shoulder roll and be defensive like Floyd. He's worse than Broner in that regard.

Ture, but mayweather would counter canelo at will and be gone by the time canelo wanted to answer back. He already has a question mark on his stamina, and the trout fight didn't help convince anyone other wise. Canelo has always fought in short burst, he carries his power throughout the fight but takes brakes.

His activity wouldn't be as high because mayweather isn't a stationary target like mosely. Boxing wise may schools canelo easy, but the drama comes because canelo has power to hurt May and could walk through mayweather's shots because of his size advantage. In my mind as long as mayweather uses his legs he takes canelo in a UD.

I have been a Canelo fan since I saw him dismantle the other Cotto. I think he was 19 then and he showed the poise and skill set of a much older veteran. It's been three years since and he has improved. Zero chance is ridiculous.

Is he ready for Floyd, probably not but he's not far off. He beat a legitimate champion in Trout. IDC how close it was. It was a good gauge of how far he's evolved. I doubt they fight this year or next. Floyd needs five more fights, why quickly fight Canelo which as of now is the second biggest fight that can be made? Showtime has to milk this out. I predict Canelo v Mayweather in 2015.

Floyd beats Canelo... But it will be even more boring than last nights fight. Floyd will be very worried about Canelos power and he will stick and move... Box his way to a UD! I could see Canelo picking up 3 or 4 rounds on Aggression alone..

The thing is, when you combine Alvarez long periods of inactivity with the fact that floyd lowers everyone's punch ouputs, thats a bad combination. Only chance he has is catching him with something big and its not a sure thing he would ko floyd who has shown before he has a chin to withstand power from bigger guys.

I ride with mayweather all day, I have for years. Yes he picks and chooses opponents. But he's not picking bums and nobody's, he's fighting top ten opponents. I'd go throuh the list but not going to. All boxers and promoters pick and choose guys that make business since. Can we make money and can we win will always come into play. At the end of the day this is about making money. Mayweather is the master of his career and has steered himself to the most profitable athlete. He's doing something right.

  14. Cotto at 154 was perfect because Cotto is a natural welterweight who just couldn't make weight anymore. It's hard for Canelo and them to make 154. Floyd can't even make 154. He's doesn't belong at 154.
