I wanted to like Clenelo. I really, really, really did.

Watched every single one of his early fights on HBO beginning with his debut against Cotto's brother.

    Then the Mayweather fight happened.

He got his ears boxed off and proved that he has no dog, no warrior, no fire within him. He got his panties pulled off and simply turned out by a man. It was humiliating.

AND I STILL STOOD WITH HIM against Lara. That disgraceful running Cuban. Went to his fight in Houston vs. Kirkland. Was a neutral observer vs. Miguel Cotto.

Now he's just despicably fighting men 35yrs and older. He has zero interest in anything else. Whats next, Felix Trinidad??

It all really began with him laying down and spreading his legs vs Mayweather. I can't get past that. The old man circuit will never bring me back.

handpicking is fair but it is getting worse as years go by. And the catchweight stuff. To win a title beating the guy who hold them now is not a great accomplishment. Can you imagine having to win 4 titles in the 1980s? Going though Duran or Pryor or Hearns or Benitez or Hagler? Those were the best of the best, but even the lesser champs then were tough. Some of these guys winning 4 titles in 4 weights now should not have them. Mikey Garcia is ok, but not a 4 times champ.. He is but he should not be.

I'm pretty much a hater but I feel I give him credit where it's due. The dude is an exceptional fighter. It's the out of ring stuff that makes me mad.

You say he's an exceptional fighter but you don't give him credit as such when it comes to scoring his matches. He was an exceptional fighter vs GGG both times and yet you had him losing both matches "clearly" if I'm not mistaken. That doesn't add up or make any sense. He didn't just all of a sudden stop being exceptional when he fought GGG. Those were arguably his best performances, him literally stepping up and rising to the challenge. If you perform exceptionally in the ring then you should be credited as such when it comes to scoring. Yet you seem to have a disconnect here. You need to plug the cable into the outlet BCS8, connect your GGG brain to your logic brain.

You do realise that you can have two fighters compete in a very good/great fight that is both close but clear don’t you?

It is really simple and that is what both GGG v Canelo fights where close but clear wins for Golovkin.

    OK lets do this :
    1) How would you rate GGG's performance in the first Canelo match?
    2) How would you rate Canelo's performance in the first GGG match?

A+ to F. Who performed better? Who was more impressive to you? Why?

Canelo impressed me more in their initial meeting but did not land or work enough and was moving back all fight, GGG whilst a clear winner was often reckless.

In their rematch I thought GGG was the better fighter fought mid range, picked Canelo off and hurt him whilst blocking a lot of the flashier Canelo combinations. Again Canelo presses the action but he hit a lot of elbows and arms, I thought it was again a clear GGG win. Just because Canelo reversed the roles does not equate to effective aggression.

Realistically Canelo was the better fighter in both fights even though I scored fight I a draw more of that had to do with Canelo running out of steam although he caught a second wind and closed strong on fight II without the stamina issues GGG got dominated

The answer is YOU need to watch both fighters. You only see one Canelo. Canelo did fight well against GGG both times BUT GGG fought better & really won both fights
I havent seen anyone claim Canelo is not a great fighter, because he is. My main beef is the way he lets Oscar, the NSAC & Vegas boxing cover his butt they make him look like a cowardly cherry picker Who is not allowed to lose
No one can deny his popping dirty TWICE Thats totally on him he knows what he eats. Like Ive said many times, All Ive ever asked is when he fights GGG he gives him a level playing field Wayyyyyyyyyyy away from the Vegas cess pit
A 100% FAIR FIGHT with the better man on the night legitimately getting the win. Not much to ask of a real champion is it ??????? I wont hold my breath hoping that ever happens though
