Think it's obvious from Mayweather's style and KO ratio he's not a KO stylist. That said, this is boxing and anything is possible. Run into a punch at the wrong time and it's check-mate.

Why wait just put him in with Klitchko. No chance floyd goes above 154. You guys just want him to lose so bad you would have him go up until he gets ko ed then say he got EXPOSED! Haters suck!!!

No No , Cotto/Mayweather was NOT close . Floyd won 9 clear rounds against Cotto . The fight was highly competitive but not close , Nobody cant make an argument for Miguel winning . But scorecards dont always tell the whole story , Miguel pushed Floyd and floyd himself acknowledged that when he said "Cotto is the toughest fighter i ever fought"

You are right scorecards don't tell the whole story. I just watched the cotto fight again last night and Cotto gave Floyd the most trouble I have seen since Castillo. However, scorecards do say who wins. Close or competitive rounds that floyd ultimately wins, are very good for his image. People want to see him challenged and have to dig deeper. Imagine if his fight with Alvarez were the same as Cotto fight. That would look great for floyd right? He gets a clear victory over a younger stronger guy in a competitive fight. That will only make his next fight more intresting. It is the blowouts like Guerrero, ortiz,JMM, that hurt his PPV numbers for future fights.

The last time mayweather fought a fighter with a little bit of quickness and a tiny bit of slicks (Cotto)...his numbers dropped to:
    26% total punches landed
    17% of jabs
    34% of power punches
Canelo is quicker, slicker (ask trout), and floyd has to worry a lot more about the return fire.

Canelo gassed easier against trout because trout is a big strong man with speed who threw A LOT of punches all night...how is floyd going to push him like that??
The last time Canelo came in at 164 (lopez) he threw combos all night with ease.

  7. Has Matt Hatton been knocked out before? Haven't seen him much to be honest.

Canelo might not be a KO artist, but his power is there.

Your argument only works if he tries to box with floyd Like he did with trout. There is a reason that everyone tries to do what cotto did( pressure and a lot of it). When fighters try to outbox floyd they get clowned. Alvarez may have outboxed trout but do you really think he can do the same with Floyd. I think he will TRY. Then after 3 or 4 rounds of getting outclassed(when he realizes Floyd is not trout) he will change up and try to bully floyd. This may work for a few rounds but Alvarez will expend a lot of energy to pressure him. Then comes the 10th round. We all know Floyd will look better in the last rounds than he does in the first(always does) and poor baby boy Alvarez will be out of gas and out of options.

@Dannyc1990 All because Canelo couldent knock out Hatton does not mean he cant knock out Floyd .

Boxing has proven to us time and time again that this logic does not always work .

If thats the case , then Buster Douglas who went the distance and could not stop Trevor Berbick has no chance of knocking Out Iron mike .

Nope, Floyd will make waste of him. Too skilled, too good endurance. When Canelo gets that endurance his power will go

You know my point though... if canelo was walking through people and smashin them then sure say he could ko floyd, but given his past in the ring do the signs really say he can ko floyd.. no! All i keep hearing is how if canelo lands one shot floyd will be hurt or canelo will be so much more powerful than floyd.. he isn't no beast people keep seeming to be saying. Floyd knows it.

My point was that people on a much lower level have 'survived' canelos 'power' so looking at it logically, canelo ko'in floyd is fairly unlikely.

I mean alot is being made of canelo after the trout fight even though alot seem to forget that it was very close and alot of people had trout winning. All you have to do is watch the first round and tell me you can give that round to canelo yet all 3 judges did. He hardly throws a fookin punch and gets the round? Talk about being cheated

how does anyone give canelito round six when he was outlanded 19-9, out thrown 87-38(22 to 24 connect percentage) and spent a large portion of the round against the ropes?

the real waste here was that gbp turned trout into an offensive fighter(a style that he is really not accostomed to as he generally picks his spots) as aiston was made well aware that he would have to ko canelito after the was informed that he was down 0-4.

ffs, winky wright wouldnt have beat canelito that night.
