    Then he should have fought his WBC mandatory opponent at middleweight.

    Instead he chose to vacate the WBC title and run away to junior middleweight to fight Liam Smith at 154.

    Nice move for the "lineal" middleweight champion.

    No he shouldn't have and I'm glad he didn't. If Golovkin wants a payday, he needs to earn it. Fighting bums and overly matched opponents isn't and shouldn't get him jack.
