I thought he looked mediocre. There's not too much depth to his game. He's horribly basic.

He need to stop that shoulder roll to, because he doesn't even roll with it, he is also so wide open and hittable. I actually would pick Chavez Jr to beat him.

 

Didnt use jab enough and speed from Rhodes fight wasnt there. Wasnt impressed 7 out of a 10 he could do better.

 

It was like watching a cat fight a big dog. The cat was really active then the dog got annoyed and ended it.

I can see the argument for premature stoppage, but the ref did what he had to do for a guy not returning any punches.

 

CONelo was getting dusted off by Gomez before the premature ejaculation stoppage.

Canelo is a disgrace, and will continue to **** the Mexican people of their money believing he has elite skills. I expect mainstream Mexico to fall for this kid but anyone who follows boxing knows hes overhyped and overrated.

It's funny, hatton/gomez were supposed to be walk in the parks but he didn't look as good...

Rhodes was suppose to be his biggest test and he completely dominated him...

Canelo was just toying in there even tring a shoulder roll LMAO.... canelo did not take Gomez serious at all and liked hatton didn't look as good because he wasn't as worried about his opponent like when he fought Rhodes who Canelo respected a lot...

and yeah I agree, not a good performance, didn't show the brilliance of past fights but was enough to beat a guy he was supposed to beat, and made it easy.

This has been one of his weaker fights. I wish the ref had let him go a bit longer to make it more entertaining.

We all know that he is also not fighting at the champ level. He needs better fighters and seems to be avoiding them. :bbb

 

I like Canelo, didn't understand why he was trying the shoulder roll, but it didn't cross my mind that he was simply toying with Gomez, which now I think he may have been, when he pressed the action he was dominant.
