Oscar was the best fighter Floyd has faced, but he was past it. Yes, Canelo will be the best boxer Floyd will have faced. I'm not sure Canelo is prime yet. But as green as Canelo still is, Floyd might have trouble with Canelo's movement and his power. I assume Canelo and his people will have their best gameplan for this fight.

Actually, I think Canelo needs to get to Floyd early to win this fight.

I've seen Khan fight a couple times and he would get murdered by prime Trinidad, Oscar, mosley, even Vargas. Those fighters aren't BUMS you listed, but they aren't as good as the 90s fighters were. Floyd would not be undefeated at his current age facing those 90s warriors.

Were you watching boxing in the 90s? Those guys you mentioned during their primes were beasts and absolutely better than the lot of fighters now day that Floyd gets to play with.
Lets get real here for a minute. Prime Floyd had all he could handle vs. and over-the-hill De La Hoya, one that was much slower, less motivated and had lost his pop. To say Floyd would beat him during is Prime isn't accurate whatsoever. Oscar would have easily kept up with his speed and forced Floyd to actually stand his ground and fight. We all know Oscar had an iron chin and hit like a heavyweight with the speed of a lightweight. If floyd wanted to win that fight he would have had to gone to hell and back and do not believe he had the heart to defeated that monster.

So instead of judging Mayweather on who he has fought, how long, and the degree of skill he has. You judge him on fights that he might have lost if he had fought the same guys earlier in their careers. Example of how dumb that is: "Gone with the wind" won academy award but now it would not make any money at box office so the movie must suck ass? right? He fought who he did when he did just like everyone else. Maybe you guys should make a FANTASY boxing league and then you can discuss all these maybes.

I judge him based on the overall talent I've seen since I began watching boxing. Yes, he's definitely up there among the best, but unfortunately we haven't seen him vs. that caliber of opponent. He had his chance during Pac's prime, but found reasons not to fight him. Floyd is 44-0 with not one career defining fight, not one fight where his opponent was a true threat. Oscar was close, but those that followed boxing then, knew Oscar was well off his best. Floyd always has a advantage with who he meticulously picks to fight. When was the last time Floyd was an underdog?
Floyd will not fight someone he believes has a chance to beat him, pac is a prime example and for that, I do not rate him as high as some others might and certainly not nearly as high as *****'s do.

Floyd is a great fighter, with less than great opposition and this is also the reason he will never be seen as the greatest ever. He needed Pacquaio to really nail that down and his chance is gone, and ya I believe he would've dominated Pac. But put Floyd against the likes of Prime Leonard, Pernell, Oscar, Mosley, tsyu, we wouldn't even be speaking about his greatness.

So the difference is his career being great is Paquio? Not one opponent that was a threat? Wow that seems to me to add to his greatness. To look at his resume and say he never had a threat is amazing, isn't it? 19 title fights and not 1 guy who had achance to beat him? He is so far above( Cotto, oscar, mosley, judah, castillo, corrales,Hatton,) that none of them were a true threat? If that is what you are saying well then we agree he is the very best in the last 20 years right?

If you haven't noticed, Floyd maneuvers away from threats. Do you think he would have fought Oscar or Mosley in their prime? Ya right, cause they would have been true threats. Even though I think he would have beaten Pac, Pac was a legit, great fighter in his prime when Floyd decided to start changing the rules of the game and ducked him, because he was a threat.
Best in the past 20 years? He hasn't beaten anyone. Roy Jones was better, he had Toney and Hopkins, that along trumps floyds entire record. Oscar had Tito, which he really won, and had Pernell just a tiny step off prime but still P4p#1 when Oscar beat him, he had Quartey and a close lose to Mosley which was later avenged. Oscar's resume and greatness trumps Floyd also.
Just because Floyd has a 0 still, doesn't mean **** when your only facing b rated fighters.
Pernell, De La hoya, Mosley would all beat Floyd prime for prime and are greater fighters. I believe Floyd could have outboxed Tito pretty easily but those other 3 in their prime were way too fast and powerful for Floyd to escape with a win.
If Floyd retired today, he would be remembered as a great fighter who was undefeated but didn't fight the best opposition. Instead of wars, most of Floyds fights have been sparring matches. And in not fighting Pac, Pac's name with always be attached to him ducking it.

Mosley and oscar would both have beat him in their primes? Yet both of them would not fight floyd in their primes and both of them lost to him after their primes. Dude just give up, everyone knows bull when they read it.
