Canelo is about to fight Bivol. What is Spence and Crawford's excuse for not daring to be great?

    Canelo has defeated
    Saunders Jacobs
    Smith
    GGG
    Plant
    Kovalev and is on his way to fighting Bivo, who is the best LW.

    Whereas Crawford and Spence best name is Porter who is below the fighters listed above. Yet, many on this board seem to rate Spence and Crawford very high (even higher than Canelo). Is it fair to say that Canelo is extremely underrated while Spence and Crawford are overrated

    Cash cows don't have any problem with getting fights they want because they get paid the lions share regardless. Two non-household names don't have that luxury.

    Exactly. And promoters dont want to risk derailing any future (big) money fights if their guy loses.

    Crawford is already a 3 division champion and was undisputed many years ago

    And imagine saying that Callum Smith is better than Porter hahaha

    Spence and Crawford should be ashamed of themselves being this long in the division and not fighting eachother.

    I'm sorry since when was Bivol the best light heavyweight? Has Beterbiev retired or...?

    Also anyone who brags about beating Callum "John Ryder's Son" Smith, post-middleweight/peds Nasal Joe, and Caleb Plant needs to have their head checked. :lol:

    This guy just said Jacobs, BJS, Smith and Plant were better than Porter.. Even Bivol sure Porter could have padded some defense on his resume by fighting second tier WWs but he chose to be great instead and chose to unify with Spence..

    That said Spence and Crawford have a false sense of what their value should be and that’s what the holdup is. Both guys want to make $15 million minimum to fight each other which just doesn’t make sense.

    The conventional wisdom is that Beterbiev is the most dangerous punching Light Heavyweight, the most heavy handed, but that Bivol is the most skillful and highest Boxing IQ Light Heavyweight.

    Also Bivol is the same age as Canelo, 31, while Beterbiev is much older, 37. Canelo has been criticized by fighting too many older fighters, and not enough prime fighters, and with the trilogy match against GGG possible in September, it makes more sense for him to fight a younger, in his prime fighter in Bivol, rather than old man Beterbiev than older man GGG.

    Crawford is mid 30s with his best opponent being Porter, last year. Crawford is content and has been.

    People can say what they want to say, hype who they want to hype, prattle on about P4P lists all they want. But the reality is, Canelo in terms of resume, doesn't just P4P rank higher than both Crawford and Spence... a more accurate visual representation of the gulf looks something like this... and I say that as someone who actively roots against Canelo every chance I get.... barring the Plant fight that is.:sisi1

    I'm not factoring in Usyk and Inoue, because they weren't brought up by the TS.
