Canelo is about to fight Bivol. What is Spence and Crawford's excuse for not daring to be great?

I honestly thought Porter lost to Danny and Ugas (clearly)

    Sure.

But he knows he never hit his ceiling.

Also, he was in the UK last week and witnessed Khan-Brook up close - two washed up guys he beat - making millions getting the full VIP treatment (riding in Rolls Royces etc) and Crawford himself being treated like a celebrity and he surely must have wanted a taste of that.

Neither have the pre-notion of what Alvarez has, that if he ends the fight on both his feet, he'll get the decision no matter what happened. A draw minimum.
And with having a sturdy chin, Bivol obviously not having the biggest punch in the division, this will go the distance unless there's a Kovalev-like deal in place.

He's following the Floyd blueprint of fighting who he wants, when he wants, on his terms, on his turf, with his stipulations, and takes it a notch further. Never having to fight an opponent he doesn't really want to face, abroad, on their terms, on their turf.

I agree though that Crawford and Spence are being protected or protect themselves a little too much.

@BoxingIQ we’re gonna have to agree to disagree on this one..You’re not a troll so I won’t insult your.. GGG I’ll clearly rank better than Porter since he actually had multiple defenses as the man at MW.. But BJS, Plant, Smith, Jacobs are not as neither guy done anything close to elite. All those guys took a safe route until their names were called the contrary to Porter, who continually fought the Top 5 in his division..

    Crawford isn't overrated at all.

Spence is a little overrated, I had Porter edging their fight.

The issue why they haven't fought? Haymon and that he doesn't have confidence in Spence to win the fight (hence why Spence's team have ducked Crawford for years). Haymon did the same thing with Wilder ducking AJ.

They had better get a move on and get some real career defining fights and build a legacy worth their talents.

Biggest disappointment running in boxing, alongside Wilder and Joshua letting their fight "marinate" until it spoiled. I can kinda understand Canelo at times, he has a ton of guys unwilling to take risks to prove themselves following him around like puppies asking for a fight. But Spence-Crawford? Cmon man, the groundwork for that was laid the moment Crawford moved up and Floyd retired. They were meant to face off for the next man up title, had they took care of this a few years back we might be talking about a trilogy ender rather than a 1st meeting that may never happen. This thing is in danger of ending up like Floyd/Pac. which was tremendously disappointing that it took so long for various reasons, from both sides. The difference here is not enough people with still care about this matchup because these guys are nowhere near the stars Floyd and Pac were.

    Er. maybe because Bivol's a 175 pounder and they're 147 pounders?

Maybe moreso where they live. But overall, in the US, as a draw, no.

Could've happened already if Crawford didn't sign that extension with Bob.

    It'll happen now though.

Spence is the one ducking Crawford. has been for years. It's a fight that will make him the most money and he refuses to make it happen pure and simple
