He never beat Trout,Lara, GGGx2, It took Vegas corruption to get those decisions. He can fight no one denies that but if he achieved the success by himself & not have relied on corruption even I would support him. but I cannot because of the Ped's, biased judges & NSAC behind him. Like Mayweather before him he will never be held in high esteem like Ali, Robinson etc,by fans purely because of this
Just my personal opinion but one shared by the majority

I need a convincing victory. Many if not most fans had Lara and Trout beating him. Morales beat Pacquiao with no doubt. Thus, he cannot be rated higher than Morales.

I need a defining convincing win over a top fighter for Canelo to be rated that high.

So he cannot be rated higher than Buster Douglas either?

That's the worst argument I've ever seen on these boards.

Lara did not beat Canelo he did nothing the second half of that fight and I was pulling for Lara to win. He deserved to lose that fight

He beat ggg in the rematch who was ranked #1 p4p by the ring at that time. Close but clear canelo win.

Well he cannot be rated higher than Barrera, Chavez, Morales, Salvador, etc. All of whom have defining victories over elite fighters in their prime and left no doubt who won the fight.

I mean Chavez knocked out Taylor in his prime and Morales cleanly outboxed Pac in his prime. So nah, Canelo is going to have to beat a p4p fighter and do it without controversy before he's the GOAT Mexican.

GGG was also 36 years old. Canelo is a good fighter, but he avoided a younger GGG for a reason.

I don't think it's corruption, its probably more that the decisions have gone his way.

But Ali also relied on the same against Norton, Jones and Young.

Robinson had very close victories over Basilio, LaMotta, Dykes, Bell, Gavilan and Abrams.

Most greats have had the benefit of doubt in close fights, hence their record looking good enough to be considered great.

He's already established himself the number 1 fighter in 3 divisions and I reckon he has plenty more to offer the sport and will achieve much more by the time he's done.

If he retired today I'd have him below Chavez, Sanchez and Saldivar.

When you say "Canelo exposed GGG" thats when you lose all credibility .
Who bragged he was a proud mexican that didnt mess around he FIGHTS!!. Bring on GGG ?? But when ordered to defend his bogus WBC belt against GGGhe handed it back like a coward so much so that the prod Mexican fans DISOWNED him ROFL!! CANELO ( El Pollo Rojo)
Who caused another fight with GGG to be cancelled when he popped dirty for clenbutrol. PROVING he was a Peds cheat
    CANELO ( El Pollo Rojo)
GGG has NEVER Popped dirty or failed to defend his title & Never had the backing of the State Commission & Vegas boxing to ensure his success he did it by himself.
This is why I respect GGG & have absolutely no respect for Canelo ( El Pollo Rojo)

Ggg tried to dictate terms and disrespect canelo when they first tried to make the fight. Blame him he had no right to try and dictate to canelo.

I understand what you're saying, but my definition of a great fighter is who and when you beat them and how you beat them. It's an accomplishment to establish yourself as a top fighter in any division, but among the ATG's it's defining performances that separate the greatest from the great.
