This sends a chill down my spine and it would send one down all of your spines too if you knew what G^7 meant when he said that.

Mexico has some of the most murderous cities on earth, Acapulco, Juarez etc in certain places yes it's a warzone comparable to somewhere like Syria. Kazakhstan suffers from extreme poverty but in terms of violence and killings it's not even close to what happens in Mexico/Latin America.

Both fighters come from humble beginnings, let's just leave it at that. No need for a childish debate about who's upbringing was harder.

    The theories are bull****.
I grew up middle class in an English suburb and I've never lost a fight with a refugee from a war zone.
I was hoping they could teach me something about being tough, but I end up beating them up all the time.
    It's disappointing

I'm sold on the fact that ANY place where people are either killed needlessly or because of need- or where war is, or has been, the norm- can be damned tough. I believe everyone who outlasts a tough environment has something extra that most of us do not. It's not a surprise that Canelo and GGG have risen to the top as elite fighters, which is better for us the fans. I'd rather see a pair of survivors in the ring any time.

toughness is more cultural than environmental. in some cultures, you know who the toughest guy in the neighborhood is, because hes beat the sht out of all the local pretenders already. fist fighting just for the sake of seeing whos who, is common in many cultures. other cultures prohibit that practice more aggressively because losers cant handle the loss. they get lawyers involved or resort to a gun to deal with the butthurt. here in america, for example, the toughest guy is the one most willing to use a weapon, or the one with the most back up.

When I think of fighters' upbringings, I always look back to Barrera vs Morales. Both guys came from different socioeconomic regions in Mexico- MAB I'm pretty sure was a law student or law school graduate whereas Morales came up from the "streets." I'd argue that MAB had the better career of the 2 (although at their peaks, I'd venture to say El Terrible was a little bit better.)

Most boxers do come from really tough backgrounds/upbringings, but that doesn't mean they're any "tougher" than guys who come from the middle class. You still have to put in the countless hours of training and work at the gym to be a successful fighter, irrespective of their financial situation.

I think some fighter's who do come from the middle class/upper class can be quite dangerous. Why would guys that could exhaust several other ways to make money decide to get punched in the face for a living?

Yet another pointless biased thread from you. Not surprised. Will you post here again after Canelo gets kod? Will you run and hide or just create an alt?
