He's actually got one of the nastiest punches at Super Middleweight, he vaporized Akkawy, Nielsen and Cox with his right hook, essentially retiring all three of them, and rocked Jacobs to his core and almost stopped him. Callum Smith took his punches, but was also stunned several times late. He's also one of the few that managed to hurt Saunders down at 160. So the official KO percentage is quite deceiving.

People need to stop comparing the Ryder of old to the one from the last three years

The improvement is immense and i never thought id see him at this level

How many John Ryder matches have you seen? I've been a long time fan and backer of his. Of his five losses. The Fielding, Smith and Arnfield matches were all egregious robberies. The loss to Saunders was arguably a draw, and his TKO stoppage loss to Blackwell, was ridiculous and another patented Howard Foster British stoppage special. He was always skilled, but something kicked in when he made his move to SMW, and he went into hyperdrive and has looked like a million bucks ever since. No, those guys dont have bad chins, he's just got one of the sickest right hooks in the game.

At the very least, give his watch against Callum Smith a watch. IB and I scored it 117-111 in Ryder's favor, it was an utter domination. His defense is pretty immaculate for a front foot fighter adn you'll see why with his intelligent pressure, combinations and underrated power, some people are giving him a chance.

There's yet to be one southpaw Canelo has owned, he's struggled with every last one of them. Trout and Lara he should've lost to, and he was losing to Saunders until the freak crushed by a Clenbomb eye socket.

Juan Ryder has been robbed even more times than Clenelo's judges have robbed his opponents. This statement is precisely, factually, and semantically correct.

I'm not going to lie and act like Clenelo hasn't stepped up to Brit Level before. Hell, he's even fought British slicksters before. But let's not forget that Beefy Smith gave him one of his toughest fights and BJS 2.0 slickness was causing him problems prior to the freak injury and that was a BJS 2.0 who was still in 2nd gear and was just getting into his groove. Had he not suffered the injury he was about to take it to a level of slickness Clenelo has never seen before.

But Juan Ryder is kind of like a BJS 2.0/Beefy Smith hybrid in some ways as in he can combine British slickess and the aggressive pressure style and he's very physically strong. Hence the moniker The Gorilla. And he's been blessed with the obligatory iron British mandible.

Has Clenelo ever actually beaten a prime full strength British fighter who wasn't shot, dragged up in weight, had a proper camp, or wasn't dead at the weight?

Khan was boxing his ears off prior to getting clipped by lucky shot Clenbuterol bomb from hell from a 50lb heavier Clenelo

Beefy Smith gave him one of his tougher fights and he had a terrible camp with minimal sparring after suffering a cut to his eye at the start of it

BJS 2.o's slickess gave him plenty of problems prior to the lucky shot and the 160 version of BJS 2.0 is way better than the 168 version

Ryan Rhodes was shot to hell and still took him to the 12th round

Even though Matthew Hatton was a career 147 pounder, who FTR had been campaigning at 147, he couldn't put a dent in him

Rocky From Stocky was dead at the weight after the rehydration clause

Sure, Clenelo bossed a dead at the weight Callum Smith but let's not forget that Juan Ryder softened Smith up for Clenelo and was robbed against a much better version of him than the corpse Clenelo fought

Kirkland is ****, and he squares up so much, no one even realizes he's a southpaw. Lara and Trout may be better fighters than Ryder, but I'd pick this version of Ryder to stop both of them in violent fashion, even then.

    All is possible
Could stand to make or lose a lot of money betting on Ryder -
I just don’t have the huevos to make such a bet.

Or maybe you're just literally doing everything you possibly can to not give Ryder an ounce of credit.

And yes, I'd pick this version of Ryder, to stop those versions of Lara and Trout. He's a southpaw after all, and a southpaw killer to be more precise. Most of his nastiest KO's are of fellow southpaws.

i obviously make Canelo big favourite you total ******. If you havent noticed, i joke around with the forum. But you are deadly serious with your hatred for most european fighters, i can smell the victim status from ya. Never have you called an upset as long as youve been on here, typical pigdog, it takes a bit of knowledge and conviction to do that.

While I'm not predicting Ryder will win, I am predicting Ryder will give Canelo all kinds of hell and lose a possibly close and controversial decision. Canelo doesn't have a great inside game, he needs a little space to fire off his looping combinations. If Ryder, who is physically strong, can glue himself to Canelo's chest, which is possible.... he's going to give him fits. It's a pity that you don't like his boxing. But that ultimately has **** all to do with how he'll perform against Canelo.
