I don't care who wins this fight...I'm just glad it's finally going to happen. I don't have much confidence in Canelo's power at 160. He couldn't KO or TKO a weight drained punching bag this weekend. However, his counterpunching can be effective against GGG's aggression.
That's not actually true. If you are a durable fighter and you punch much harder than your opponent, it is actually in your favor to land one and get countered
Fonafara is a LTHW moving 4 pounds down. Canelo was a JRMW moving 10 pounds up. Power is not everything in boxing. If it was Pacquiao and Mayweather would not have been the two best fighters the last 10 years. Skills pay the bills, power just keeps on the shower.
Sometimes!! Sometimes he's too small for the MW division and everyone there including Steven and Lemiuex beat him up, and sometimes he's really a true Lt.HW shrinking down to 155. Depends on the weather with some of these fanatical Golovkin supporters.
Are you telling me that 35 isn't ancient in boxing? Don't forget that Golovkin had a long ass amateur career as well.
I see your point and am not trying to sound critical however GGG knows the age factor and has knew it for the past 18-22 months he's been chasing Canelo. I don't see GGG allowing age to be a factor over the next 5 months. He's had no major injuries and stays active outside of training. His work ethic is almost as dedicated outside of camps as Floyd. I still say this is going to be competitive and a "boxing" matchup not a steam roll KO for either guy as some seem to expect. There will be blood (I just used your name) and at least two 10/8 late & early rounds IMO.
