Canelo is just a prospect, no way he is ready for Mayweather.

Let me start by saying that from what I have seen of Canelo, I believe in the future he can make some noise in the game of boxing and be one of its stars...BUT......Lets not fool ourselves people, Canelo even with 41 fights is only 22 years old, he has faced sub-par competition ( F, D & C class fighters) & he hasnt even faced or beat a TOP Junior Middleweight and we are supposed to believe that he is ready to step in the ring vs Floyd Mayweather Jr and be competitive? In what corner of the twilight zone are some of your minds lost in? I can hear it now, as soon as Mayweather makes this young prospect look like a boxing novice people will discredit Floyd as well as the win and make excuses for Canelos inexperience and his lack of legitimate competition/opposition.

Mayweather is so great & skilled that many fans/haters/ & critics are just grasping for straws trying to find any new face to dethrone Mayweather. How on earth is a 22 year old Canelo anywhere remotely prepared for what he is going to witness, encounter & experience if & when he steps in ring with Mayweather? This is not his fault, its his matchmakers fault for not providing us with the matches that would allow us to properly evaluate where Canelo is currently at. I think he should fight Trout or Cotto or a fighter with more skills and one who actually has a pulse before he gets a fight vs Mayweather

Excuse him for wanting to fight the best, even if that ends in a loss.

But thats just on his end of the spectrum, I am sure this is not Mayweathers train of thought. Canelo isnt even the best in is weight class....Mayweather who isnt even a JMW has beat 2 fighters at 154 that are better than canelos entire resume @154lbs. Also Mayweather is a WW, why isnt Canelo wanting to "FIGHT THE BEST" in his weight class?

@holds a title.....yet he hasnt defended it vs the best fighters in his division?

He's a prospect that thinks, acts like a megastar, and somehow is treated as such.

Any and everybody is ready for a fat paycheck!! I'd confront Chewbacca & the Mothman the same night for a couple of millions.... Plus PPV percentage, of course!

Canelos stamina is horrible, he will be gassed by the 6th or 7th round, he will fight hard early and be exhausted then picked apart. IMHO:bbb
