I noticed that many of the Floyd fans who'd formerly been kissing Canelo's a*se were rooting against him when he fought Plant, so in their minds it's already reached the point where the cancer has got out of control. Even if they don't know that Floyd weight-drained Canelo as Canelo does now to his opponents and targeted him while he was significantly pre-prime, it has to dawn on them that if weight-jumper Floyd could have moved up even as high as middleweight and beat Golovkin he would have. Nobody gives that Filipino flyweight journeyman any credit for Pacquiao's achievements more than 7.5 years later and rightly so. Moving up to "cruiserweight" to KO a champion of non-European ancestry would solidify Canelo > Floyd in their minds further.

Roid Jones? You never read that on this site? Plus, when RJJ got popped, the internet was just a baby, if that. So hate did not spread as rampant as today. Don't forget Fury's legacy. He got popped too.

Yep. As popular as RJJ was, he was hated by a lot here.

And even then, it'll still be happening at the WBC "limit" of 190lbs -- a weight Makabu hasn't made since 2013 -- instead of the 200lbs which is the limit in place with the other sanctioning bodies.

There's nothing quite like making absolutely sure.

*Well, the WBC mandated limit of 190lbs, and not the full 200lbs Cruiserweight limit currently in place with the other sanctioning bodies.

Look, I've never liked Floyd who might have been the phoniest individual in boxing for two decades but he'll always be twice the boxer Canelo will ever be.

Canelo doing the cherry picking tour of the higher classes. Is there a gimpy HW he can target next? So many better options and he chooses this guy? Canelo fans will jizz themselves after he KOs this bum. As long as they pay to see garbage, Canelo is going to give it to them. He ain’t loco.

Who knew that kid Lennox Lewis who got stopped by Oliver McCall and who was later KO'd by Hasim Rahman would go on to be considered one of the ATG Heavyweight Champions.

I still think FM's resume is still better than Canelo's at this point. As far as weight draining Canelo, not exactly true. Canelo is the one that said he would come down to 152 to fight Floyd, not the other way around. Looking at that fight, Canelo wasn't fighting like a fighter that was drained. He still had some steam at the end of the fight. Oh, Canelo hasn't improved by leaps and bounds since losing to Floyd. Personally, I think Floyd haters throw that out there to discredit a very good win. An 8 year, 42 fight pro is still green? Never convinced me of that.

Yeah but he avenged those losses. Your man got beat by an ancient Floyd who at no point was in any trouble AND THAT's A FACT. Also got outpunched twice by pensioner GGG and needed the judges TWICE AND THAT'S A FACT.
