I can't see it happening. It was the first fight of a multi-million dollar deal coming off of two very tough competitive fights, a low risk fight makes sense. It'll be Golovkin or Jacobs on May 4th.
yes, youre being rash. my dislike for canelo is starting to disappear, the more i read all these emotion driven posts from so many posters with hurt feelings. seems there cant be a rational discussion on anything related to canelo, without making it about personal feelings.
Canelo isnt signed to Matchroom and what is this easy route i keep hearing about? I heard Deontay himself saying Joshua took an easy route so i put their resumes side by side and doing that made even less sense. Limited amateur career only had half the fights Wilder himself has had. Fought more unbeaten fighters, more champions and ex champions, has fought a lower average of age opponent than Wilder has, fought higher ranked opposition and has pretty much cleared out the top 10 of the division. Where do i pick the easy route out of that? Even when Wilder was refusing to sign the contract until the day after Povetkin signed for the mando. I thought Povetkin was a bigger threat to Joshua than Wilder was, still do and i fully believe Povetkin beats Wilder. And Wlad and possibly Parker. So i dont rate Wilder that highly i think hes only about the 5th best Heavy in the division right now and he certainly isnt getting any better. Fury has been inactive this last couple of years so im struggling to see the "easy route" here at all. The only people he could of faced by now after only 22 fights that he hasnt are Wilder, Fury, Ortiz. Besides Fury Joshua has already faced and beaten better fighters than those 2. So what was so easy about the route he took?
If DAZN can't dictate terms, ie, tough, competitive fights, the $365M contract will be torn up. So, Canelo will be forced to fight some tough fights, whether he likes it or not, or he will be seeking another promoter. If DAZN tries to serve up another Fielding fight they risk losing a huge number of subscribers. Their business model is too tenuous at this point to do this.
Joshua has beaten Wlad, Whyte, Povetkin, Parker, Takam, Breazeale, that’s one of the best resumes of any active fighter. Hardly an easy route.
"Take the easy route like AJ" Love it. Seen IFL's new interview where Ryan Garcia tells AJ he will beat Wilder. AJ's exact words were "when it's ready, it will be a good fight". Then he swiftly changed the subject lololol. Man is petrified.
Canelo has to fight what? 10 more times during his contract with DAZN? He can't possibly fight GGG type fighters 10 times in a row. Gotta fight a B or C level every couple bouts. And there aren't 10 A level fighters at MW and SMW anyway.
That's pretty much the same way my disdain for President Trump eventually disappeared. The hate for Trumpnelo is equally absurd.
