Didn't look good vs Bivol, looked mediocre vs a 40y old Golovkin. Always gassed in the second half of the fight.
I definitely thought he would age better with all the money he’s made. Although it seems like the run at 168-175 got to his head and maybe he’s not as dedicated anymore.
I noticed in the first round thinking damn Canelo's punches looked slow and no snap, an easy night for GGG. Then GGG had near no reactions to pull the trigger and cooked.
He looked to have slipped last November against Plant. I compared it to his performances against Golovkin, Chavez Jr, Jacobs, etc. Athletically, he's dropped off. He's not as explosive, quick, or fluid with combinations, legs have slowed even more, and his stamina is really mediocre these days (and it was never anything to write home about). His peak is clearly behind him.
17 year pro career Walks around at 185lbs but used to cut to 154lbs only a few years ago All those training camps All that time in the gym All those long runs on paved concrete that kills the knees Then all those punches taken in sparring as well as fights It's going to catch up to him
