We all know that he really has four losses, a PEDs scandal, and possibly one rigged fight. I don't really think he is comparable to Usyk or Crawford. To me, he is more Adrian Broner level...a very good fighter and opponent to the stars, but hardly a great. Agree or disagree?
4 losses isn’t that bad considering all of his fights and the level of competition he’s facing. Definitely not AB level
I'm sure fans would view him differently if he had the 4 losses on his record. Broner level? He's more rounded than Broner and an all around better fighter.
He should have more losses and should have lost the Golovkin rivalry 0-2 or 0-1-1, but he's still the real deal. Broner was probably the most manufactured 4 weight beltholder in history, receiving a number of gifts and easy vacant belts. He was still a good fighter, but clearly more overhyped skillwise as Canelo ever was.
I had lara by 3 rounds against Canelo, but there was no doubt canelo can hang with these top skill guys. He was able to cut off the ring well at times against lara. I think this version of Canelo would have beaten Lara comfortably. And his bodywork is so slept on for some reason.
Fair enough in regards to Lara and Trout but it would have been harder to justify ruling in favor of a guy running all night, and a guy who got knocked down in a close fight then to giving the nod to Canelo.
I've seen some bad takes on this forum, but this is one of the worst. Broner couldn't even beat Ponce de Leon and a faded Malignaggi decisively.
