Yvon Michel only signed Beterbiev to protect Adonis Stevenson from him, so yeah.

Callum Smith does not deserve another Canelo payday at any weight

    Bingo.

Beterbiev's own fault too for being so complacent and not shouting for a big fight asap

I think Canelo is OK: I know he said 4 fights next year but they always say stuff like that: it'll be 2-3 fights per usual most likely. And there are a still few decent fights left, which will take him through the next few years, after which there should be some future star to fight, e.g. Munguia, Buatsi, etc.

    E.g.
Benavidez May 2022, Golovkin III at 168 Sept. 2022, 175 tune-up (or possibly Charlo / Andrade at 168 if Canelo is feeling confident) Dec. 2022
Joe Smith Jr May 2023, some top 10 defence but not too hard Sept 2023, Bivol/Beterbiev/Ramirez in December 2023 or 2024.

He did shout to Michel, but it fell on very deaf ears.

It would be a valid defence legitimate defence of his undisputed title.

He fights so often, he's bound to run out of decent opponents at some point. Credit to him
Shame the same can't be said of most heavyweights

If they fought a third fight I think Canelo would legitimately win (but Govolkin would go the distance). Unfortunately, many would claim that this proves Canelo won the first two and is the superior fighter.

He's looking more powerful at 175. Next time, let Canelo have 3 weeks to get ready AND include a transatlantic flight in that time.

Nah, there will be new guys coming to division climbing to the top ranks from below.

Canelo is only what ? 30 ? There will be plenty of time for him to sit and enjoy his throne until worthy challenger appear.

The division itself is crap, but I'm English aren't I so I like seeing English fighters getting a title shot.

No he has not all. Charlo, Benaivides, Andrade, Chris Eubank Jr and the jewel in the crown Erroll Spence Jr are a few to keep him occupied before moving up in weight. Lots of sharks at 175.
